It's always a joyful moment to have buffet with your entire family. This time it was for one of my family member's birthday, and we came here for tea buffet as a celebration.The tea buffet starts from 15:15 to 17:00. This is a restaurant from a hotel, therefore it's normal to have some high expectations on it.About the services and environment, I think they were good, satisfactory at least. However, at the perspective of food quality, i'm sorry to say that this place had totally disappointed me.

Firstly, to consider the food choices and variety of cuisines, I think it kind of lacks both. There were several cuisines but I think they should provide a few more food choices among each cuisine. One or two dishes was just simply not enough to be satisfied.
Well, but it's not that everything was not so up-to-standard. Mainly on the appetizer, the mussels, shrimps, pasta, sushi were made pretty nice. These were the foods that I think qualify in my expectations.
Hot dishes were kind of just so so. But I really have to say that the dim sums were kind of terrible. It's pathetic and crucial to say that I think some other restaurants, small or cheap ones, make better ones than the ones they had here.
Desserts weren't so bad but still, it'd let me down. The pancakes were okay, wouldn't have gone bad for using the pancake machine. They were quite a lot of toppings you can choose from, such as peanut butter, condensed milk, maple syrup, butter, whipped cream, etc. The cakes were kind of disappointing to be honest. For instance, it claimed it was pistachio cake with pistachio jelly, and it appears green as well. However, there was no hint of pistachio at all from the taste of the cake, it tasted just like a normal sponge cake. The pavlova and other sweet biscuits kind of desserts were okay, but the cookies were such a huge disappointment. Frankly, I have to say it sucked. I don't know what went wrong and caused them to be so terrible, perhaps the way of storing, I don't know. Another disappointment was about the brand of ice cream provided. I am not looking down at any particular brand of ice cream and no offense to the other brand, but I think as a hotel, some better brands of ice cream should have been provided instead of that.
In overall, I just think the restaurant isn't really up to expectations. I hope improvements will be made when I get the chance to come again.
