A Very Good Place to Be Smile Aug 10, 2011

This new restaurant, at this old location, is great. When I visit an Italian restaurant I don't usually order and base my final judgement solely on how well it cooks its chicken or fish. There are many other good places and styles of cooking for those (eg. seemingly simple Chinese steam fish with soy sauce is simply the best there is for fish cooking). I would naturally focus my attention on how well the Italian restaurant cooks its pasta.

I can only tell you the pasta at this place is more than good, it is out of this earth. Al dente and delicious for sure. However, a little unfortunate incident during my visit was that our waiter didn't think he needed to write down our orders (for 2 of us) and eventually got the size of my pasta dish wrong to be a second course (small) portion instead of a main course. So I couldn't have enjoyed more of their pasta that time. And ironically they are supposed to be a first restuarant to offer iPads to customers to place orders directly, but they have apparently switched back to the traditional paper menu.

We also ordered their cold cut platter, and that was certainly a really pleasant surprise. I think it was designed and put together by a food tasting expert and that one can tell once you try a combination of the cuts there.

The seaview here is of course magnificent too (needless to say).
