Another busy day starts in the early morning and need an afternoon chill out there before coming back to work. I've tried the one at IFC, which is just so so, excepot the fabulous view, because it's fast-food style, self-service.
Coming over to City Plaza, give it a try as I saw it's Simply a restaurant, no need to do self-service especially I need rest...
Afternoon set, fries plus one of the selected items of burgers, sandwich or croissant.....I ordered the Croissant with beef, swiss cheese (emmental cheese) and tomato, coffee.
Putting in a wooden tray and warp in paper, the fries is freshly fried, not bad; however, I prefer the croissant be heaten instead of that cold......If it's heaten up, the emmental cheese will be slightly melted, and it will taste much better.
Coffee is nice, with a piece of cookie. One very big weakness that can be Simply improved is....they should use hot milk, plus offering choices of milk or skimmed milk. For hot coffee, the milk is cold and once we mix it, the coffee is no longer hot and it's not perfect any more. This is something sounds minor, but Simply critical to be good or bad.
Playing some relaxing music is good, but people there are rather loud....
Overall feeling is Simply good, until.....Can I have the bill, please...The set is $46, plus 10% service charge, totally $50.6. I gave the waiter $70 (50 + 20 notes)...and supposed the change is $ 19.4...Maybe, I'm simply lower-class or the Waiter thought the restaurant is kind of luxury....They assume that's the Tips, without any intention to give me the change!
I was there waiting for 15 minutes....they had NO intention to give me the change, and I'm very sure I didn't say "keep the change" when I paid....after 15 minutes, I asked another waiter, .."Excuse me, I'm waiting for the change..." .....and after a few minutes,...seeing them running around and finally put the tray of that $19.4 in front of me....
Come on...I'm not mean and do pay tips in nice restaurants with good service, not talking about this amount, even more is fine...But the point is... Don't take it for granted. Ask, ....if the customer is going to pay, they won't take it or Simply say "keep the change" ....
Food quality is not bad, but the ending is Simply Rude.
