Came to Tonkichi spontaneously as we didn't know where to go in TST and it was really hot. It was surprising to find that we only had to wait for TWO tables. So, not much done before we were seated.
Had two sets to be shared among the three of us: (a) Pork chop & pork loin set for two, and (b) Pork chop & prawn.
I am still tremendously upset for the restaurant's inflexibility for accomodating my request to have a set for pork chop / loin and scallop, even though I was willing to pay up! I do not understand why they have sets pairing with all other types of seafood such as oysters (which I don't eat) and shrimps but NOT scallops. But of course, I know I can always order a la carte but man - 54bucks for one pc is really a rip.
Anyway ~ the pork chop was very disappointing. It was very chewy and very different from what I have tried before - the texture was good but not chewy!!! Otherwise, everything else was usual - up to expectation. We love the tar tar sauce the most! heehee...
Service was okay. Aside from the fact that they made us move after we were first seated (the waitress kept mumbling something), we were happy in our little cubicle area.
Can I have a set for pork loin & scallop pls?!

Won't mind coming back.
