Vietnamese Spring rolls free w/ coupon
We were standing downstairs looking for this restaurant but turns out entrance was right behind us.
when we started to walk towards the life this lady asked us if we were going to Pho vietnamese and I replied yes, and she handed me a coupon.... it was for this free dish with dinner.

The spring rolls itself were fried extremely well. Not a single drop of oil visible, and perfectly crunchy. The lettuce was also fresh. I tried my first bite without any condiments, but turned out quite bland despite some mystery meat within. I guess they expect you to use the Vietnamese dressing or sweet/chilli sauce so they don't really season the rolls?

Vietnamese steamed rice ravioli
This was not bad but not particularly good either. It had bits of meat and diced mushrooms inside, and on top was pork floss. Good with the dressing. My friend adores this dish but I would prefer other appetizers.

Pho $36
The menu provides a couple other options for noodles in soup, such as mixed beef (with tripe, tendons, you name it) and vietnamese sausage, but none of the usual shredded chicken? My friend chose this and it turned out pretty good.

It arrived swiftly upon ordering - almost immediately after? i guess its very easy to assemble once you have the soup base made earlier on the day.... The waitress however noticed there were beansprouts missing so she gave them to us a bit later.... by the time the soup wasn't hot enough to half-cook them so we left them aside. The beef was not bad, but the soup was the star - right amount of salt, lime and beef broth. The last recent pho i had was from La'Taste so unfortunately I can only compare the two, and Pho Vietnamese's won hands down.

Flat rice noodles with chicken and vegetable sauce $48
The noodles were all of varying sizes, and so I believe they were made in-house, rather than purchasing ho-fun. They were quite good because they are thicker so they have a bit more chewy texture to them. The sauce was not salty and quality veggies used, but I really disliked the chicken meat. It was brown and didn't look very fresh at all...Most of it was left on the plate.

salt baked fish $128
This arrived on the table with a salt crust, but the waiter hastily removed it before i could photograph it! He was very nice though, after removing the crust he placed the head back nicely so i could photograph it
. The fish itself was void of skin on the surface because it stuck to the crust.

Although the dish took ages to come (after we finished all the others), it was quite worth it. The meat was very tender and soft, and went well with both the vietnamese dressing or the sweet n chilli sauce that accompanied. Some rice would've been perfect but after the other dishes I was too full...

Service varied between the servers, but generally friendly. Dishes should arrive by their type - i.e. appetizers first then mains! I guess this is not uncommon in asian restaurants of this type.
