Cosy Joint Smile Dec 03, 2009

This is the 3rd time I have been here. Had a nice supper and a not so nice tea before. Our daughters love this place as it's really cosy and there are lots of magazines from US and UK to read. If you like them, you can buy them to take home.
There are a few particularly cosy sofa type chairs and an area where people can sit at a bar and login their laptops, so this is a place where you can have a leisurely meal.
Again I was drawn to the all day breakfast. Somehow eating breakfast at night has really taken my fancy of late as I don't eat a proper breakfast unless on holiday, so eating a hot breakfast revokes pleasant memories.
Husband went for 3 courses, lobster bisque, king prawns on pasta and a banoffee pie. All were really good and we dug into the banoffee pie. Though I don't normally like banana, I found the toffee part and base of the pie really delicious. I think this is one of their most popular cakes.tongue
Daughter 1 went for a Ratatouille Omelette and then shared a Bouilabaise with daughter 2. The Bouilabase came in a thick sauce and not like a broth as you would find in French restaurants but the seafood were all really fresh, even the most boring fish was soft and succulent. smile
Daughter 2 had Mussels in White Wine Sauce. The sauce was really nice as were the mussels, however the mussels were really small inside big shells. She also ordered cheese and spinach ravioli which she said was good. I believe her as that is one of the dishes she always orders.
Then we ordered a piece of NY cheesecake to share and found it delicious. Not as good as Roxy in New York where the cheesecake is so thick and rich that it took 4 of us to eat one piece. This had a good taste of cheese, quick thick and had the feel of an authentic NY cheesecake.
Our meal was typical of that of a Chinese family having a Western meal with lots of sharing and tasting of each others dishes. So again it was a nice evening out for us. We were not put off with the not too slick service where you keep having to remind the waiters, what happened to the bread that was meant to come with soup and did you take down that order for the lemonade ?
