Czarina is quite an institution. Established in 1964, it has legions of loyal customers. It's not difficult to see why. Although the restaurant is small and the seats rather cramped, the food that it serves from its wide-ranging menu is almost invariably good. Service is very efficient, and the owners sometimes come to chat with long-time patrons. Prices for its many dishes vary greatly, but portions are always generous. Their meat and fish are particularly well-prepared and their borsch is a veritable legend in the area. One can also request for alterations in the recipe or even dishes that don't appear in the menu - the kitchen will do its best to oblige. While it's definitely not a place for gourmet dining or intimate rendezvous, it offers such hearty food and friendly service that one will be tempted back.
