crispy sandwich

When heading to Admiralty, Pacific Place reminds me of Petit Café. It was around three o’clock when I finished my business and started looking for this reputable café. It is not really difficult to find the little shop, all you need to do is taking the escalator to the top and switched to another escalator to the outdoor area.
Perhaps it is tea time, the shop is a bit crowded. Looking for something light to eat, it was disappointed that the mixed burrery tart was sold out. Spending extra time to pick another choice, I eventually chose Smoked Salmon Sandwich, as it looks quite nice and tasty. Staff there was nice and reheat the sandwich for customer.
The sandwich is in fact quite big to eat it alone in tea time. The baguette is unexpectedly crispy, and hot! The salmon is really large, which is oversize, but I was happy with happy with that. Served with fresh vegetables, onion and some olive oil, the taste is fresh. The sandwich was still warm when eating the last bite, felt very full instead. And would like to try mix berry tart when visiting Admiralty next time!

OK but nothing to write home about

This is conveniently located for the office workers around One / Two Pacific Place, right next to the taxi waiting area. It is not too crowded during lunch and the line moves reasonably fast so this is my #1 pick for days when the few other available options are over-crowded.
Small bowl salad ($52): It's like a DIY salad bar except you point and the server decides how much to put in your bowl. My main gripe with the salad here is that its overly oily, which overpowers the flavors (which are OK). These are the typical choices
- Caesar salad: Nice fresh crunchy lettuce but WAY too much Caesar dressing. Good if you're trying to ease into a healthier diet from a mayonnaise - and - cream type fast food diet but not good for the health-conscious. The flavor is good though
- Tomato salad: Never tried this before, so won't comment
- Pasta salad: Again, good flavors but too oily. It comes dressed in a basil pesto like dressing but every mouthful coats your lips with olive oil -- unhealthy!
- Mushroom salad: Again, good flavors but too oily. This consists of mixed mushrooms with garlic in a garlicky olive oil dressing. The mushrooms are literally coated in a thin layer of oil and slippery.
- Cauliflower salad: Fresh, crunchy, perfectly cooked cauliflower with raisins, same oiliness problem, but great flavor.
- Broccoli salad: This is the least oily because it's grilled, but the downside is the broccoli sometimes is over-grilled and comes slightly charred. Cancer fears aside, the charred broccoli usually affects the taste of the other salads in the bowl as well, so I've stopped ordering this
- Quinoa salad: This is my favorite of the lot. Not too oily, the quinoa is perfectly cooked (not overcooked so it still has great texture and bite), and a great balanced flavor
- Beetroot salad: The beetroots are refreshing and slightly sweet, so a good way to balance the oiliness above
The brownie ($16) and raspberry chocolate tart ($16) here are good and come with a rich natural chocolatey flavor and great buttery tart pastry, but take literally two mouthfuls to finish, so a bit on the pricey side.
All in all, a decent choice for lunch. Perhaps for the salads they could be less heavy handed on the dressing and offer patrons the option of having dressing on the side!

Ordered salad with broccoli, tomatoes and beets and a butternut squash soup
Broccoli was not marinated as great as simply life at landmark.
Beets and tomatoes were not that fresh. They didn't have that fresh taste.
Butternut squash was very mushy and tasted dull.
I would never go back to this place. They should be doing a better job.
As for service, staff were very nice. Atmosphere was great.

take away salad

Le Panda (9 Review(s))
i have read tge comments about this cafe and decided to try during lunch time. there are quite a lot choices for the salad and each one looks very tempting ;) i ordered the small salad with sweet corn, broccoli , crucumber, mushroom and rice. although the take away box looks small but it is fully packed so a small salad is more than enough for me.about the taste, broccoli taste good, it's grilled with a taste of sweetness, mushroom taste good also, there a variety of mushroom inside with proper seasoning. the rice is good with some pine nuts in it, giving s chunky taste. the sweet corn is of average and a bit dry. i don't really likd the crucumber at all ad it taste bitter which is strange. overall thd salad is of good price and taste, will be back again
Recommended Dish(es): mushroom,broccoli salad

How delightful. Admiralty finally has its own simplylife-like bistro in the form of the Petit Cafe. I would've been happy about this new restaurant if I worked at Admiralty!
Salad (s/l), hot soup, pastries, sandwiches, croissants, cakes, yoghurt, juices, coffee, chocolate, fruit
Environment:
Airy and spacious, with a generous amount of light through the glass panes. What I like about the setting is that there are small sections for all types of diners. Ladies who want girl-talk can sit at the squishy armchairs near the back of the restaurant overlooking the interior of PP.
The Cafe is actually an open cafe with no walls to deflect sound waves near the back. So there are also long tables for people who need to use computers to discuss projects. And there's also a long bar table lining the windows up front overlooking the PP vehicle drop-off area next to Upper House for those who want to grab a drink, or just enjoy the lunch breaks alone with a book, or their phones.
Food:
$48 - small salad. Fill it up with whatever you want. They'll adjust portion size for each selection according to how many ingredients you want.
The quinoa rice salad was chewy and satisfying - i loved the texture and moistness. The sweet potato had a bit of bite but was still soft enough for my tongue to mash. I liked how it was slightly caramelized. Served cold. Pasta was rather oily but al dente. Could choose either penne or quinoa next time
. Mushrooms of course, were delightful, slightly chewy, which is what good mushrooms should be like. I liked how they were seasoned/cooked - flavorful and juicy. Broccoli was slightly undercooked but seasoned with garlic chips...stlil good!
Banana Pecan Muffin $17
I had a bit of trouble choosing which muffin I wanted for dessert. Blueberry, apple walnut, banana pecan, and something else. There were also lovely pastries and chocolate-dipped croissants tickling my appetite. Finally decided on banana pecan muffin because...I don't know. There is no reason why I should not come back and try the others some other day
It was tasty, with plenty of pecans (no cheating there!) and a pleasant banana aroma. The muffin top was, as usual, my favorite bit. Quite a good bargain at $17.
Conclusion:
This cafe only has one competitor offering similar food: the METropolitan Cafe. Each has its merits. MET has grilled chicken, burgers, chips, wraps, painini, and pocket sandwiches. Petit Cafe offers higher-quality salads and also a wider variety of pastries and sweet treats. Petit also has a selection of 2 hot soups (which are wonderful to have on a cold day).
