We tried the Megabox CPK after a great movie.
The menu is modern, not too big, and most items look very interesting. As a friend of Italian pizzas some pizzas were simply not acceptable (thai i.e.), but in general the pizzas on the menu were good too.
The selection of other foods on the menu was good too. We had 2 pizza, soup and salad.
Service was mechanical with no staff interaction at all.
Food was good as such - but what was really bad was the very high MSG use. I wonder were you can have MSG in pizza? I often do pizza at home - MSG free. The salad has MSG too.
They would really do good in doing some chef training on proper cooking skills - and banning all MSG from their kitchen.
It's really a pity since the menu is very good, but getting sick after eating there is not worth it. I really hope they can change it. I have to add that I am not that MSG sensitive, only if it's way too much I have a reaction.

Came to MEGABOX one night in May with my family, who haven't visited the 'Box' before and most likely would never come again after this once off event. A rather quiet night once again, this place really is awkardly situated! Instinctively, all of us would rather choose to dine at a commercialised 'California Pizza Kitchen' over the other also commercialised Chinese restaurant options upstairs... perhaps knowing that if we're going to take a gamble, might as well gamble on an American chain with food that don't usually go too wrong.
BBQ Chicken Salad -
Came with a ranch type dressing not too dissimilar to a caesar dressing, pretty fresh lettuces and tomato salsa. The grilled chicken wasn't bad and the BBQ sauce was tangy and smoky. Came with strips of crispy corn chips.
Roast Garlic Chicken Pizza -
Looks like we're having a lot of chicken tonight. This pizza had just the right amount of Roasted garlicky input, also with onions and a White wine and Garlic/Shallots buttery sauce - the latter half of the equation almost doubling over the main ingredients themselves.
Wild Mushrooms Pizza (Added chicken) -
This comprises of 4 types of mushrooms, the most powerful 2 being Portobello and Japanese Shiitake - enhanced by a Mushroom Walnut Pesto sauce and 2 cheese, Fontina and Mozzarella.
***************************
The pizzas here are quite Americanised in a way. The toppings seem a bit exotic and outback like in scheme somewhat, the pizza has a medium thickness dough base that is crunchy on the outside but softer in the middle. They're cooked in a bricked-oven which is great with even distribution of heat. Most cook their's in a commercial oven installed with a conveyor belt. Its probably not true wood-fire pizza here though, there's simply none of the aromatic trait and bubbly skins. Very different from the Italian counterparts.
In reality, its very difficult to find American pizzas of such edible quality locally, may be apart from say Pizza Express, which is also a foreign import but not from America and has much thinner bases - in fact Pizza Express is probably closer to true Italian flavours somewhat. Pizzahut meanwhile in Hong Kong, for some reason gets worst and worst over the years and has completely lost its American heritage, now its more Asianised but still edible in a funny way I guess.
Its a strange thought - but if I ever have a crave for this particular style of commerical Americanised pizza, I will choose this as my no.1 choice. Horses for causes: if rated as a non-artisinal type of pizza, this definitely deserves a high '4' to low '5'. Its actually quite good and the ingredients and sauces have been well thought out and actually works. ( I'm not entirely a big fan of the PHDs and Domino's plus they're mostly take-aways.)

Went to have afternoon tea with gf ytd at this restaurant. We ordered a potato soup, some kind of bean soup, a hot fudge brownie and a banana chocolate cake with icecream. The potato soup is very good, the texture is very thick and has a strong potato and cream taste. The bean soup is also very good, i dont know what kind of bean is it but its very soft and chewy and the soup is very nice, the texture is also very thick but its not as thick as the potato cream soup. The chocolate hot fudge brownie is very good the brownie has a very rich chocolate taste and the texture is very thick. its still hot when its been served, it goes very well with the icecream ontop. If its thicker it would be much better. The chocolate banana cake is very good. the cake is soft and has a strong chocolate taste too. In the middle is a layer of banana sauce filling and the banana taste is very strong n it goes well with the cake making it even better. on the side the icream is very big, enough for having it with the cake.
