同個好朋友去山頂欣賞下香港既風景..
估唔到係香港都有 Bubba Gump, 係美國返黎既我地一於決定去重溫美國既日子, 都想知道香港同美國既 Bubba Gump 有咩唔同.
一開始個 Setting 同美國差唔多, 最好既地方係我地既位可以鳥瞰香港既景, 已經羸左十條街.
我叫左 Accidental Fish and Shrimp.
D魚同蝦有些少Overcooked, 食落去有少少老. 不過D汁有美國既程度 (一開始擔心會迎合香港人口味而影響味道), 整體黎講都唔錯.
P.S. 我個朋友叫左個 Shrimp Sandwich, 跟餐既薯條好似唔係即叫即炸, 完全係"軟趴趴"

Sunny weather in HK finally again and time off from work, so decided to drive up to the peak and try an old favorite.
This review is a combination of 2 visits over 4 days (that's the extent to which the wife is now liking shrimps).
got seated quickly enough on nice tables both times (once with view of harbor and the 2nd time with a view of the peak tram)
We ordered the following:
1. Cajun Shrimps - easily the best item on the menu with the shrimps perfectly cooked and the salty garlic bread making an ideal foil to the cool smoothies (in my case, the Jenny's favorite - a combination of strawberrys and vanilla soft serve ice cream).
2. The American sampler - combination of pop-corn shrimp, seasoned shrimps, chicken strips etc. The only standout in this was the pop-corn shrimp, which can be ordered seperately, so best to avoid this going forward.
3. Shrim Po-boy - this is a big 6 inch piece of bread with some salad and pop-corn shrimps. Sounds simple, but works especially of you are feeling hungry and need some filler.
4. Scampi - Shrimp with pasta - not really great, too bland for my liking.
5. Dessert - my favorite part of the meal here. We were confused between the strawberry shortcake and the cookie with ice cream - went for the cookie and it was fantastic.
Will we go back? Definitely yes - but will stick to the gems on the menu and disregard the noise - the Cajun shrimp, the pop-corn shrimp, the smoothies (infact all drinks are really good) and the desserts (which are surprisingly the most value for money items on the menu).
Supplementary Information:
definitely a casual date place with the views and the quiet walk post the meal
a bit on the expensive side, but the best bet on the Peak (though i have a love-hate relationship with the Peak lookout, more on that later).
Get the 1 hr parking rebate against the bill at the parking shroff (parking is quite expensive at 36 HKD/hr).

美味甜蝦

每次上山頂都想要去阿甘蝦餐廳, 因為餐廳的甜蝦很甜很好食. 其他海鮮也不錯, 特色飲品也很特別.
這裡的蝦有很多種烹調方法, 種類也很多, 例如有甜蝦杯, 煮蝦, 炸蝦, 蝦甜盆, 甜醬蝦, 辣醬蝦等等.
點了個炸蝦拼盤, 有三種蝦, 吉烈炸蝦, 甜醬油蝦, 煮蝦, 還有薯條. 分量很多, 很霸道, 船仔幾得意.
最好食係煮蝦, 非常鮮甜, 感覺應該係炸完再灼, 蝦裡面的甜汁完全保留住, 咬落去非常爽彈牙, 蝦味極鮮甜.
甜醬油蝦, 醬汁係濃黑甜醬同黑醋混合的酸甜醬汁, 同蝦的味道很配合, 要落去蝦汁同醬汁混合味道更上一層樓, 啖啖都很滋味呢.
吉烈炸蝦, 麵飽粉令外層香脆中層鬆軟, 裡面的蝦彈牙多汁, 三種層次的口感很不錯, 配檸汁更好食清熱.
比目魚扒, 魚肉鮮嫩, 肉味清淡芳香, 酸柑汁提升了魚的味道, 很健康食得很舒服的魚扒.
蟹肉泥湯, 外觀好似開稀了的薯泥, 蟹的味道不重, 不太有特色.
飲品方面, 最特別係花生醬特飲, 花生醬配上朱古力與咖啡, 還有奶油, 非常特別, 味道很濃郁.
甜蝦杯的甜蝦非常甘甜, 推介. 炸墨魚圈和洋蔥圈也非常好食. 也有很多與別不同的特色飲品, 不錯.
服務員很有禮貌親切勤快, 不過大部分都只會講英文.... 價錢稍貴.

呢間餐廳去過好多次,但食物質素越來越差
最近一次更差到要令我開A/C去寫食評
我同女朋友兩個人食,叫左兩款湯,一個芝士通粉,一個蝦併牛扒(詳細名稱已唔記得)
兩款湯味道還算不過不失,叫入到口,但絕對唔可以話好味,但兩款都唔係熱的,只係暖,無煙出的
芝士通粉,放0係個鐵PAN上菜,但竟然可以係凍的,完全凍的芝士通粉,暖都講唔上
呢個真係頂唔順,叫人黎幫我攞返去加熱,5分鐘後再攞返黎,都只係暖左少少
唔敢再叫佢加熱,驚廚房加料,但WAITER收野時問都無問我地意見,
蝦併牛扒,蝦有6隻一串串住上,但有D係唔新鮮,一食就覺得(梅)的
牛扒無肉汁,DRY爆,如果佢地知道佢地D牛扒咁DRY,好心就另外比多D汁去補救下
但佢只係比左少少唔知係燒汁定咩汁,一塊牛扒都唔夠點,仲要唔好食的
我諗全晚最好係兩杯果汁ONLY
我諗我以後都唔會再去

朋友生日,壽星喜歡食蝦,提議去生頂阿甘蝦慶生。原本兩星期前訂了七個人7點,因為朋友生日指明要WINDOW SEAT 。小霸王和男友提早上到山頂影下風景, 所以可以早少少去攞位。誰不知餐廳要人齊才可以入座
, 那又誰料到山頂纜車又大排長龍,,終於遲了到餐廳,,餐廳好像求其安排一張檯給我們,一個沒有景又悶焗的小房間中,像與世隔絕般
。
炸洋蔥絲-好特別,好鬆化,無論味道外表質感都會區不似洋蔥,十足似分子料理。
阿甘大薈(Shrimper’s Heaven)$208-滿心期待的,食物擺設吸引,但味道強差人意。四款蝦中只有炸鮮蝦(4件)比較有鮮味和肉質結實,而炸天婦羅大蝦(4件)炸粉厚而且蝦肉「梅」的,失望至極。另外黃椰絲蝦(4件)及灼凍蝦只是一般貨色。這樣索價200個大洋,真的殺人一頸血。
阿甘大薈(2)(Run Across America Sampler)$160-滿心期待二之再失望多一次。原來這道小食又有炸鮮蝦(4件),我們一行7個分剛好,脆香海鮮球可以,辣汁雞柳乾無肉汁,凍蝦一般貨色。其實阿甘大薈(1,2)都巧立名目吸引客人點菜,當中只有炸鮮蝦比較可取,而每個菜只有四小件,所以價錢與質量不相乎。食物擺設重要,但味道好才是實際一點。
秘製豬仔骨(Dixie Style Baby Back Ribs)$218-豬仔骨肉質淋而且有肉汁,特色醬汁同豬肋骨好夾,輕輕一切骨肉很容易分離。伴著炸薯條,合小霸王何車。
香草牛油白酒煮蜆及青口(Steamed Clams & Mussels $168-青口和蜆肉不新鮮,食下時口夾雜著白酒味和雪藏味,而白酒煮時沒有足夠時間把酒精揮發,所以帶有苦澀味,做不到有白酒香和海鮮鮮甜的效果。若果貝殼類新鮮,只需加點白汁,黑胡椒,盬和檸檬汁,便可弄出一道佳餚來。
海鮮燴意粉$168-意粉有咬口,煮的時間掌握唔錯,蝦隻剛好熟,醬汁剛好掛在意粉上,淡淡的香草,一吃想再吃。
焗芝士海鮮(Frankie’s Baked Seafood & Rice)$148-好香濃芝士味,芝士波菜及帕馬臣芝士忌廉汁好好味,落足芝士,一啖食落去,芝士味不停在口腔滲出,好幸福的感覺,愛好芝士者大愛。
扒大蝦配特式蒜香牛油辣汁飯(Shrimp New Orleans) $198-牛油辣汁煮蝦,味道有點像中式的x.o醬爆蝦球,十幾隻小蝦伴半個權頭大的白飯,天呀!很吝嗇啊
,怕人家吃飽肚子而不多點菜。
事實上我們還未飽又不餓,食物質素未如意,再加單又有點那個,幸好我們買了蛋糕來慶祝,店方不收切餅費之餘又贈送了一個迷你甜品給壽星公。而且送上蛋糕一刻會熄燈,工作人員個拍手和唱一首特別輕快的生日歌。

朋友生日,安排不到window seat,重點人齊才可以入座,很不爽。
