Looked forward to dining in Alfred's new Home in HK, yet was surprised that the restaurant is run by KEE Club...

Dinner review:
Sausage roll- a typical British food ; well made but need to pay attention to temperature (quite cold) ; good side salad

Fish & chip- took on waitress' recommend & was not disappointed. Good quality cod meat w/ batter that was not excessively oily. Chips was however overdone

Eaton's Mess- in fact they could just rename to strawberry sorbet, not enough of the crunches.

Service - friendly but need to be mindful of time

CONCLUSION
A nice cozy area to have a drink & snacks, with a good selection of wine/spirits. Menu items are reasonably priced too. But don't think the ambience caters for a fine dining experience.

Went during its soft-opening period in Dec 09. IMMENSELY impressed

Steak tartar- just the right texture, flavour & condiments. Enough said

Pan seared lamb- signature dish. Visually amazing already (the wrapped potato). Perfectly seared lamb: tender & juicy. Very very good !

Fruit ravioli- not really my cup of tea but new experience

Service - Excellent, atttentive & polite. Cannot ask for more

Conclusion: My new favourite in town. A must try !

1) Surprisingly no house compliment introductory dish to start off with @ restaurant of this class !

2) Trio of foie gras- trying to immitate molecular food? Sorry, guests don't come here for this.

3) Roast suckling pig- way too much fat & oily

4) French apple tart- saved the last reputation left of the meal...barely (ice cream was half melting already !)

5) Service
- ok but require more attention to clients. I do not expect to ask for water refill water every now & then
- HUGE problem of time of serving: dessert on table RIGHT AFTER the main dish is taken away? What is wrong !!!

Conclusion- overpriced, never visit again.

A fresh moment (drinks area)  May 25, 2008

Decided to go for a drink in the "city hotspot" on a friday night around 10pm. Luckily secured a indoor table for 7 (was told that no reservation is allowed for bar area). Originally hoped to sit outdoors, the interior was actually comfortable & nice despite the rather empty decorations & the staff's moving around.

Drink list is comprehensive while the $ is reasonable. The staff is very willing to help out with the selection for our bottle of red & white. Overall a great satisfaction for the drinks there.

However, once my friend & I popped upstairs to have a look at the restaurant, we were sort of starred at & made us feel uneasy. Seemingly the restaurant staff needs to improve on their friendliness.

Its good! Its cheap! Its quick! Its good/friendly service!

Menu has lots of variety, but all time favourite is its 印尼炒飯 !!! Afternoon tea snack platter, along with a glass of Gunner, is a good choice too after 18 holes
