Thoroughly unimpressed Cries Feb 20, 2012

I was very excited to try this place as I am always looking for good middle eastern food and was sorely disappointed with our experience. I thought the food was overpriced for the quality and the staff were inattentive and rude.

We ordered several dishes and was quite disappointed with them. The thing I was looking forward to the most was the Hummus and it turned out to be not that much better than the hummus I buy at Marks & Spencer. The babaganoush was bland but the Haloumi was okay. The worst was the chicken tagine - dry and not flavourful.

*Sigh* I'll have to continue the search for a good one. sad

First of all, I think it's probably unfair to try and compare the ramen in Hong Kong to the ramen in Japan so take the review with a grain of salt.

I think the ramen here is not bad, obviously better than the regular chains but I don't think it's worth the tremendous wait. I thought the ramen was okay, not my favorite kind of ramen but good if you like the yellow thinner noodles.

The soup was kind of msg-y so although it was good, it left you that "my throat feels like it's the Sahara" feeling.

Overall, pretty good fix if you're hankering for ramen but I wouldn't wait 45 minutes for it.

There's usually a line on the weekends but it's such an amazing snack that I always go back.

The funny thing is that I always get the same thing - the big pork beng. It's juicy (sometimes too juicy that it will leak out all over you), big and super yummy. Plus, it's incredibly cheap ($10) and filling.

What more can you ask for?

Unfortunately, I have a friend who is pretty sure they got food poisoning from there.....but I haven't!
