Walked by here the other day for a quick dinner with another friend. The total came to $103 for 2 people (girls). It was really good!

Food

Beef bibimbap $39, Honey coated chicken wings $28, Shredded pork sushi $28, and sweet barley malt team $12 (nothing really special about this drink, only it tastes like sugarcane
Beef Bibimbap
Beef Bibimbap

The beef bibimbap really hit the spot. All the ingredients mixed together in the hot stone bowl really complimented each other. The texture of the vegetables were quite crunchy which was surprisingly fresh. The best part of all was that the rice didn't stick to the bowl to form an inedible shell, which was quite important cuz that meant you got your money's worth, and the rice didn't go to waste. Remember to add some spicy chili sauce to it before mixing to make the dish more fragrant and yummy!smile

bowl Shredded Carrots
bowl Soy Beansprout
bowl Spinach

It was still sizzling hot when it was brought to us and was totally excellent!!! Really delicious, cuz you can tell it was carefully fried and generously coated with honey to complete the ensemble. The chicken skin was still crispy (not rock hard), and the meat inside was hot and steamy at the right temperature. Unlike other places, it wasn't sloppily deep-fried with honey slapped on top which squirted oil in your mouth when you take a bite. I highly recommend this snack!lol

Although the seaweed was quite soggy, the sushi roll was still pretty good in it's own unique way! The best part came from the shredded marinated pork which melted in your mouth, yet didn't overpower the taste of the other ingredients at the same time.lol

bowl Seaweed
bowl Sushi Rice
bowl Egg
bowl Shredded Carrots
bowl Spinach
bowl Shredded Marinated Pork
bowl Dried fish (I think, but please correct me if I am wrong. )

Staff
Alright, but you gotta speak to them in english.

Tips
Due to the reason that the place is quite small, you gotta line up and buy food first, and then the dude at the counter will assign you a seat. Just don't rush in for a table first=D (I learned it the hard way, as would many other=p)

It was also my first time at this place, and I got to say it was an alright experience. We came here at around 12:50pm (lunch time) which to my surprise, we were seated instantaneously. The cart seats were pretty spacious so I'm not complaining. Now moving onto the food...

It was quite a large bowlsmile
bowlsaki (salmon)
bowlmaguro (tuna)
bowlika (squid)
bowla token ebi (botan shrimp)
bowlpieces of nori
bowlamai tamago (sweet egg)
bowluni (1/2 tablespoon of sea urchin)
bowlkani roe (crab roe)
bowlkappa (cucumber strips)
bowlkamaboko (pink fish cake chunks)

I was very surprised that the fish were all FRESH, and the rice was just right. Thank goodness!! Though this was my first time here, I have to say I really liked this dish and was very pleased they took the time to chop up the cucumbers into fine strips instead of big gross chunks which I despise. It would had been perfect if the kamaboko were cut in thin slices, but over all this dish was quite delicious and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND itsmile

Most fried food's got this taste to it as if the oil's been used over and over again ∞ times. Like I said, I dunno if it's got to do with what time of day you go or the mood of the chef etc, but the fish was really good. No nasty reused oil aftertastesmile

bowlMiso soup was alright, had generous amounts of kelp and tofu...but it needed more miso and less salt.sad

Staff
Very helpful and on the ball. (It must be because there weren't that many people during that time);)

Overall Impression
Excellent! I would definitely go back again because the lunch was definitely worth every penny (10¢ or 20¢ in HK). I was also quite impressed with this place because they actually do provide you a generous portion for what you're paying. This meal was $72HKD + 10% tips= $79...pretty good dealtongue

Tips?
If you can, you should try to go at around 12pm when there is less people; before the lunch rush.tongue

Take-Out is NOT Recommended Just OK Jun 21, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Sushi Bar | Sushi/Sashimi

One day my colleagues and I came up with this great idea, since there was always a huge line-up at the branch, we decided to order take-out and grab it ourselves...BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!mad

Cons:
- All the sushi were warm!!huffy
- Seaweed for all sushi were soggy. Soggy to the point where it feels like you're chewing rubber. Don't do it!!! Trust me!!shocked
- Some careless staff didn't double check our orders while packing correctly, so we ended up with at least $30+ worth of food missing. (Didn't want to make a big deal, so we didn't pursue)

Pros:
- None really, but I highly suggest to dine-in instead. (The food quality is better)

Food
Ok, but could be better.

Fried Shrimp Roll $16

Staff
Too busy to care especially if you're not dining in.

Wait Time
45 minutes during busy hours. (Then again, when is it never busy?)

Overall Impression
Not too good. I really hope they can improve on bagging the orders right so no one will ever get ripped off again. Although $30 isn't a lot, I still felt I didn't get my money's worth. So for now, I will continue to dine-in and never again will I ever be so silly as to have anything taken-out again.

Tips?
1. Don't order take out unless you really have to
2. Always borrow a friend's membership card to save 10% (Dine-in or Take-out)
3. You can also save 10% with Hang Seng Enjoy credit card between Mon-Thurs (Dine-in Only)
4. Always check your bill to see that all the food you paid for is there

Very delicious! Drank most of the soup too ~ shocked
The corns added a great touch to the ramen.
It would had been better if the green onions were
cut in long thin strings instead of in little rings.
I think that would help create a more Japanese
authentic feel, rather than making it seem a bit
dai pai dong style.

Ordered the $48 meal off the last page in the menu:

b]Food 食物:

Miso Soup huffy
- Was too salty 太咸
- Too bland 冇味
- No kelp 完全冇海带

Spicy Mixed Soba (cold) smile
- It was good 好食

6/10 Sushi sad
- The fish were not fresh 魚唔新鲜
- Nori on gunkan was too soggy 軍鑑紫菜太霖

Staff mad
I went during 1:00 pm with two other colleagues, and there were very little people with the exception of a couple of students. When I raised my hand to order, the staffs deliberately pretended not to see me and walked into the kitchen.

Wait Timesad
冇, but 喝品took too long to get to us.

Overall Impression 印象
The food was ok and at a good deal too. I would had been happier if the staff were more efficient and took better care of customers.
