As a Canadian, my regular breakfast used to be bagel w/ cream cheese and Tim Hortons coffee. Cheap and tasty! tongue Thank you Yo Bago for bringing this to Hong Kong! Best bagel!

Located near 街市 and 五金店 .... not really a noticeable spot for dining. I don't live or work nearby .... and this morning, purposely made a trip for bagel breakfast. This is my second visit, and I purposely brought my hubby to give him some "Canadian flavours". However, if the opening hours can extend for more convenience ..... then I don't need to purposely go this morning la ..... PLEASE EXTEND YOUR SHOP HOURS!!!! smile

Now that you close at 7pm on weeknights, Saturday only open till 3pm, and closed on Sunday (I came one morning to want to try but soooooo disappointed that you were closed) ...... it's really not too convenient ga!!!! mad

Back to why I love this shop:

Bagels freshly-made (of course) ... with large varieties of bagel flavours ...... and lots of cream cheese selection too!!!!

We ordered a cream cheese bagel set (bagel with coffee), and then a side order of Vancouver Breakfast.

Lovely breakfast! Made my day!

Unique Japanese Dessert Place Just OK Jan 07, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Coffee & Tea Shop | Dessert

Thanks to OpenRice and Magazine for featuring this unique place! We went at around 9pm on a Thursday night ..... I was a bit worried to have to wait in line. As it's newly opened and such unique concept! Surprisingly, when we arrived at 清風街, it was very quiet .... no line up and still a few empty tables. However, the waitress did not allow us to sit at the tatami table ..... I wonder if it's really reserved or what???? As even by the time we leave, the tatami table was still vacant.

Anyhow, must agree that the place is very very Japanese style.

Even the waitress, she's a bit like Japanese. Although she speaks Chinese (very politely and w/ smile) ..... but it's hard to understand what she was explaining in the menu.

Anyhow, we've ordered the following desserts (nice presentation, freshly made, and NOT SWEET at all):

With the environment they set, and nice presentation of food ..... their prices is really reasonable or cheap ..... only about $30/dish. A very nice experience and good for photo shoots. But not a place that I will visit often.

女紙餐廳 Just OK Jan 07, 2011

We walked into the restaurant, and they asked if we made a reservation. And I said "no", then the two of us were assigned a table for 6. Do we need to share a table later on!?! But the restaurant were only 40% full ja wor!

Anyhow, their "paper" concept was very cute. Tables, chairs, decorations, everything seems to be made of paper. Of course our plates and cutlery were not.

However, besides the "new concept" .... it really is not a comfortable place for meal. For my hubby this evening especially .... as he mentions all the people dining at the restaurants were females and he felt like he went into a 女校 ..... (poor him). But even beside this factor .... their tables were put too close together (maybe due to the high rental costs in Central) .... and their cardboard seats/tables were not comfy at all.

But I must compliment their food. Very tasty and felt like healthy choices. No complain on their food.

If you like their concept a lot .... they have even setup an area near the entrance where you can buy their "paper gifts".

Great Place for Desserts Smile Jan 05, 2011

Dessert really does bring happiness and completeness to life! tongue

After a simple dinner, we had appetite for some Japanese-style dessert.

It was quite surprising that on a Tuesday night, at about 8:30pm and we still have to wait for a table. But we really wanted to try, so decided to wait .... 5 tables ahead of us. But their waiting area was quite comfortable, not like waiting on the street. There were white sofa to sit while you wait, and new Japanese magazines too (I was surprised that they were offering January 2011 magazines .... instead of really old ones). After browsing an issue of "Spring", then our number was called. Yeah! smile

We didn't get window seats sad ...... and our table was very very close to the one next to ours ..... I can touch the girl beside me. But that's okay.

Their dessert menu were amazing!!!

We ordered the following desserts:

Waffle w/ Chestnut Paste and Mango Sauce

Baked Banana Pancake w/ Mango Sauce
Baked Banana Pancake w/ Mango Sauce

Taste: Excellent! Not too sweet!

Presentation: Perfect! But they were actually smaller than appeared in the menu.

Price: Reasonable.

Will go back very soon to try other desserts and drinks!

Hard to decide where to eat last-minute for New Year's Eve. Then we decided to dine @ 鴻星. What a wise decision!!!!

$1450 全包宴 for 6 People
$1450 全包宴 for 6 People

The meal was originally set for 6 people, but there was way too much food! Even with 1 extra person, it's more than enough!!!

But if you don't mind a late dinner, then please make your reservation for after 8:30, as you'll get another 20% off .... which is even better deal!!!

Crispy and juicy

Although it's nobody's birthday .... but still yummy!

There were also 石頭魚 soup and dessert that I didn't take pictures of.

But overall, their portion size is really too big for 6 people.

Also, their service was TOO good ...... they came to change our plates way too often .... I think like 4 - 5 times during our meal. Really no need for a simple family meal! A bit waste of water/detergent/labour to use so many plates (which was not needed in the first place).

For a decent Chinese meal, this 全包宴 is worth trying!
