Me and my friend had lunch at Cafe Grey Deluxe. We both chose the lunch set to save us time. I was pleasantly surprised to be seated at one of the window tables, where the view stretched out to TST.

First course was parsnip and chestnut soup. Unfortunately the soup was too watery, and the flavours not rich enough. Soup like this begged to be creamy with rich wintery flavours with a hint of herbs. The ingredients were sorta there, but not done to the level the restaurant portrays inside to be.

Main course, my friend had the pork belly, which seemed alright. I had the tofu black bean rice noodle wrap dish. Even though I'm vegetarian, but doesn't mean my appetite is little. The size of the dish was far too small and originally. I felt that with the price of the lunch set, they could have used better ingredients and a bit more creative with the main course. How disappointing.

For dessert, we ordered the apple tart and this chocolate sauce with fruits. The apple tart was much better, although only just by a margin. It wasn't too sweet, which was great, but what it lacks were the flavours of apple. Just not quite there yet.

The service is something worth a mention. Both the foreign managers and the asian waiters who served us were attentive, friendly and professional. I'd have to say, I enjoy the view and the service more than the food. I'd come back, but probably just for drinks.

After reading about this crepe restaurant from a magazine, me and my sister were eager to try out something different for lunch. We found this neat little place on the first floor of a building in the busy wan chai road. The decor is filled with nautical theme items. From lighthouse photographs, salt and pepper bottles to the yellow and blue cutleries. The place feels cosy and relaxed.

We ordered a buckwheat crepe with spinach eggs and cheese and a crepe suzette just to see the differences between the salty and the sweet crepes. The buckwheat crepe arrived folded towards the middle with cheese thinly layered inside. The taste of buckwheat gave me a much healthier feeling, (perhaps that's just a psychological thing) but the bottom is slightly burnt (perhaps a bit too long on the hot plate). The sweet suzette crepe arrived with the waitress drizzling the flamed sauce on the crepe. I much preferred this choice. Maybe just personally preference, the inside of the thin crepe has orange marmalade, it is a little on the sweet side, but I don't mind it.

People usually associate Christmas with celebrations and a day filled with joy and laughter, but not to the waitress who were working in this restaurant. I'm quite surprised by the other comments not only on Openrice but on other website commenting on their friendly service. It must have been a bad day for us, as the two waitress who were working there neither acknowledged our order nor smiled once at us. We were neither rude nor demanding but we were appalled by their lack of service. We get their attention to order something, upon hearing our order, they did not utter one word in response nor smiled. huffyI haven't had such a terrible service in Hong Kong, not even at dai pai dong. The owner, or manager from Shanghai were professional and informative, but he really should tell his staff to be much friendlier than this.

I'd go back even though the crepes are slightly on the pricey side on the scale, but under one condition. The service has got to improve. The two asian waitress would turn any customers away in the long run, regardless of their fluency in other languages.

My family loves pizza express. Whenever we crave some descent pizza, we head over to the wanchai restaurant for some tasty indulgence. The base is thin, crunchy and yummy. With a great variety of toppings, hong kong is blessed with this popular pizza chain which came from UK. I can tell you as a londoner, the pizza at Pizza express is far superior than the ones in london, for less the price!Highly recommended! While you are at it, order a salad to go with it to make you feel less guilty of the heavy carb meal.Plus the service while I dined at the restaurant was often professional, which made it even a better choice for your next dine out destination.
