not satisfied on all everything.

(1) reservation
booked a table 2 weeks in advance but it's only mentioned we need to return table in 2 hours on the booking day.
i was pissed.

(2) dishes

appetizers
gem of the sea: extraordinary dish, interesting try.
maize cake: another interesting dish but sort of heavy if were to finish by 1 person, suggest to share with 3-4 ppl.

soup
soup with mussels: this is good. fresh mussels in nice-favoured tomato soup.

main
slow cook pork chop: so so, the meat texture didnt seems to be very tender with slow cook applied
意大利紅蝦煮意大利麵: failed to impress our palate

dessert
creme brulee: i had only half of it, coz it's too disappointing
custard spring roll: expecting an facinating combined feeling with the crispy spring roll and soft custard. however, one of the 2 spring rolls was soften. wonder if they're 即叫即做?

to be honest, they taste like those $300-400 dinner set you can get from soho. very average quality.

(3) service
staff not knowing their menu, or even English.
we would like to know more on the dish "roasted garlic", it's explaint that's 無花果.
we said 無花果 is fig, not garlic. U_U

(4) seating
very limited space, tables are closed to each other.

(5) costing
extremely unfair I would say, plus a 12% service charge they put up.
i cant find any reason why they can charge 2% more than others.
we spent $2200 for a 3-person dinner, m sure we can get sth of much much better quality in service elsewhere.

nan tei has always been my favouriate restaurant.
the one in cwb is the usual one I go, occasionally will make it to happy valley if cwb is full (full house all the time)!

on an afternoon when I was in central, was thinking might just make visit to the central outlet to fulfil my desire for nan tei- but a disappointed experience I would say.

food
Dishes were delivered in good sequence, they let you have food one by one.
Most dishes are in line with nan tei's standard, except the 雞肉軟骨棒 (my must-do order!), they had it with some peppr and salt on top instead of the brown sauce I used to have at other nan tei.

but if were to choose, i would prefer to stick w nan tei in cwb and happy valley, honestly.

last note: suggest nan tei to enforce on hygiene measure, as i was seated at the counter area, saw a "chef" was having cold, he sneezed with a tissue but then he did the "cooking" without washing his hand or wearing gloves. and he even touched a sweet potato skewer with his hand to measure temperature. having seen this, i immediately checked and left.

went there for a late dinner on Fri night, arriving at 9pm.

need need to wait for almost 30 mins for a table for 2...
after seated, we ordered 3-4 food items, including the roasted suckling pig.
yet, the waiter kept telling us the dishes would come a bit slower for tonite - we were fine for it as we 2 persons couldnt finish food very quick anyway, rather have more buffer in between.

however, no other dishes were served after the suckling pig, later on a waiter came over and explaint the stove in kitchen was out of order. no other dishes would be served for the next 1.5- 2hrs!!!! shocked

we were angry but hungry at the same time.
if there's something wrong w/ the kitchen's facility, why not be honest and direct by the time we ordered!!!! now, trapped us there for almost an hr, and we could only have the suckling pig! huffy

yet, no special offer the bill was ever made even customers were seriously upset.
not even waiving the "tea money" charged per head. we paid some $150 and then left.

Disappointed.

gd spot for quick meals.

but the hot / stuffy environment for noodles is not appreciated. think they should enhance the ventilation if for serving noodles. sad

no next visit until winter time i think.

went there for dinner on a Fri night, noticed that the place was renovated with a much smaller area. but that doesnt bother me much, as seating is still comfortable there.

ordered a parma ham dish as apetitizer (OK!), and an angel hair with crab bisque as main (a bit disappointed - only angel hair on plate, no nothing around, not worths for a $200 dish if were to say), however, the desert made the sad part.

I was fascinated by those cheese boards serving around when just entering the restaurant, so, tried to order that as desert but i was told that was a for-2 portion. I tried to requested twice on flexibility on making that for 1 person, disappointedly being rejected.

Somehow, i know only sophisticated restaurants would have the flexibility to accommodate dishes off the menu. Maybe I was spoiled, or just Habitu didn't manage to give a reason on it. The rejection was simply made too direct w/o hesitation, not even playing a trick as "let me check with the chef for you".

To me, it's all about putting up cheese slices for the cheese platter, what would make it so difficult - when a customer had been asking for twice...
