Cheated Cries Jun 25, 2009

Once tried its belgian dark & milk choco chips at Shatin's store, impressed and had a second trial this time

Though it's promoted to be 'new', did not expect much from the strawberry choco chips, yet the saleslady suggested the combination of this with white choco chips came out to be real good so we took the advice.

The first bite was disappointing enough, the strawberry choco chips was nothing special and too sweet together with the white choco, the freshness was entirely masked, the white choco tasted like vanilla instead.

As the old saying goes, better stick with its originals.

Deteriorating eggtart Cries Jun 17, 2009

Once was one of my favourites with its cripsy layers of pastry and not-too-sweet eggy filling, yet was greatly disappointed by its recent ones.

The distinctive texture was gone and made me comparable to the usual ones one may easily pick in bakery, and being sold at $5 @.....too much for present standard

Deteriorating Quality Cries Feb 28, 2009

This has once been my favorite patisserie in town.

Visited it again on a sunny afternoon, after long hours of overnight working. Picked my favorite almond croissant and a cup of latte.

The staff was as friendly as ever and they kindly warmed my croissant prior to serving.

But problem arise when i bit into the petit pastry. Oh my god! The crispy pastry was replaced by a hard rigid dough. And the coffee was way too bitter this time. Too much coffee and too little milk i guess.

Not only food quality but also consistency is very important for a michelin star restaurant i guess.

Not for scone Cries Aug 07, 2008

Have been a fan of its scone yet the standard's obviously declining. As compared to those in Das Gute, it was way too hard without the softness it should offer.

Rocky-hard bun Cries Aug 04, 2008

Had once loved its steamed bun with veg and meet, this time picked its credited fried beef bun, only a few was left on pan, the crispy look was pretty deceiving, the stuffing tasted good but yet wasn't accompanied well with the bun, the hardness didn't come from heavy frying but it's the flour used i guess.

Better stick to its steamed variety.
