Well, the bread's soo good because....... it's full of butter!!!

Basically it's like croissant, loads of butter and loads of folds, hence loads of layers and very fragrant. Biting into the bread slice just reminds me of croissant but in a different shape and that it's paired with Japanese western sides.

Had the 明太子意粉 which was great. Stir fry spaghetti which was al dente and mixed with some seaweed slices, green peppers and the roe obviously. A pathetic sized broccoli and cherry tomato on the side.

The service I have to say is "good" as in they are sincere in serving you, but their English is quite bad and they don't speak Cantonese.. so unless you speak Japanese expect some mis-communications..

If I have a choice I would go to the one in TST with way more seats. This location is pathetically small! Over an hour wait in the late afternoon PLUS the ventilation is terrible so expect to smell like burnt toast and have kitchen smoke smell soaked up in your hair and clothes by the end of your meal!

Had 特色小籠包 which had pretty thin skin and juicy meat in the middle. Went great with the ginger slices and vinegar.

The shrimp noodles are great. Noodles are just right not overcooked and the shrimps are very fresh and not overcooked. The broth's quite clear with some veggies.

The shrimp fried rice was also fantastic. Not very oily and of a decent portion.

The service is not as bad as the below reviews. Most staff were attentive and followed up with our orders and had smiles whenever I needed them.

Slightly expensive but worth a re-visit.

I have been to the TST branch once during lunch time. It was spacious and quiet, hardly anyone there. Since I THOUGHT it'd be nice and chill I wanted to try the cwb branch.

It's VERY crowded and VERY loud. The tables are close together and because of the design of the restaurant, basically it's like a huge room that traps all the sounds and everything's magnified. My party and I could hardly hear each other!

I quite like Applegreen's menu. Plenty of salads, I like. I also appreciate the small/big sizes that are available. Their grilled sea bass salad is quite refreshing with some sliced mandarins and light dressing on the salad. Their sauteed mushrooms and sun dried tomato salad is well done. Although the mushrooms are on the oily side, since I didn't put any dressing in, the whole dish actually worked out well. The "big" size is only $88 and it's huge!!

Their fries on the side are delicious! I think it was some sort of cajun seasoning and they were nice and crisp.

Service here is above average. Most are polite and they are pretty fast. They did however got part of my order wrong and mixed in the salad dressing even though I asked for it on the side. However once I voiced it she quickly (without black face) went back to the kitchen and 2 minutes later I have a non-dressed salad

Overall a pretty good place for salads. Although I don't appreciate them telling me to leave by a certain time as I booked a table, I understand how in the restaurant business you really need high turnovers.

As we were heading out around 8:30pm there were still plenty of people waiting! When did HK ppl start liking salads? Seemed like no one would give a dang for raw leaves a few years ago..

Came here for lunch on a weekday and it wasn't packed. No need to queue!

You are "forced" to order lunch sets, hence drink + snack + main course.

I chose the 番茄蟹膏湯檬 with chicken wings and this lemony drink. The noodles didn't have much crab as expected but plenty of minced pork. Broth was flavorful. The chicken wings were on the oily side but delicious non the less. The drink was slightly too salty. The set was $58.

The environment is clean enough and the service is ok.

The location is very convenient right in the middle of Wanchai. Can just hop off the tram! The building also has some historical significance and the view's great on the 2nd floor dining area. The tables are quite comfortably spaced out.

Service's quite good. There were more servers than customers that night! Mostly polite and courteous but one waitress did get our coffee order wrong.. but other than that it was pretty spot on.

The bread choices were simple but good. Just plain white or wheat. Their wheat bread looks plain but the texture and taste are great!

I have to mention that the SIDES here are delicious!! The portions are just right and well seasoned. Cabbage and bacon was the best imo. Mixed beans salad was great and so was the beets and green bean salad.

As for the mains they are british influenced. Braised lamb shank was very tender and flavorful! Their salad leaves are also very fresh.

Didn't get to try their desserts. Their decaf coffee could have been better.

Overall for the ambiance, view, food, service I feel like it's worth the price. I wonder how often the chef changes the menu.. would like to come back another time!

Came here on a Sunday for lunch and there was hardly anyone there.. probably partly to do with the fact tht it's Japanese!

Mostly sushi/sashimi on the menu, but the restaurant doesn't give me a feeling of high quality and fresh raw seafood.. so I went with cooked dishes.

The menu has some udon/rice lunch sets. I had the salmon (seared) + salmon roe + sea urchin rice. The salmon was a bit too fatty and the sea urchin was alright. The miso soup was also on the salty and oily side but was acceptable. Their sushi looked mediocre.

Overall a very Hong Kong japanese restaurant.. most staff are very young. Although mostly polite, it does feel like they are very new and confused as to how to do a proper restaurant service.

I would say overall it's an OK place for lunch around the area.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday, and since everywhere else is always full during lunch and dinner time, while Zelo always have empty seats, I knew something's just not quite right here. And I feel it's the mix of spotted service, overpriced food and only average ambiance that cause the empty seats.

I have to say there are around 2 servers who were very fast and polite. However there are 2 that just seemed day dreaming! Held onto our menu forever while walking around like a headless chicken, and after our bread's served and everything still stared at our table *blink blink* while holding our menu. Hello???

Then when we order, she wanted to collect my menu after just ordering my appetizer.. then of course she realized I haven't ordered my main course. And for my friend, when it got to his turn to order, she wanted to take away his menu even before him ordering!! So after all these ordeal, she collected 2 menus.. but she forgot to collect mine....

The bread is sub-par taste/feel like it was microwaved.. so even though it was warm to start with they soon turned gross Also we had to ask for some olive oil and vinegar and butter.. or else it's just plain dull bread.

The house salad was average just some mixed greens but they were fresh nonetheless.

The grilled seabass had a nice light sauce to it with a tangy sweetness. The silvered almonds are a tad stale but the spinach was fresh and not overcooked. Overall a pretty good dish.

The tiramisu took forever to come out. My friend asked if they are making it fresh The taste was OK.

The ambiance is really casual and you can still hear all the noise from the mall outside. For that ambiance and level of service, although the quality of food is not bad, I doubt if I'd be back.

Like the reviewer below, this restaurant really need to get some new menus! They are all torn and idrty and quite disgusting! Terrible first impression.

Service wise is quite OK. Most staff are responsive and quite courteous. Although I had to keep reminding them to fill up our water.

Came here for high tea (turns out there's sunday brunch till 3pm with some appetizer and dessert buffet). High tea sets are for 2 and around $130 per person. Quality is average. Other tea items include salad, pasta, pizza and some sweet items. Tea set are around $120. I really like their pizzas here nice and thin and crispy and the toppings are just right. Salads are however wayyy over dressed! It was literally drenched in dressing which was pretty gross. Pasta are as usuall al dente and delicious I just love their coffee here. Great!

Have yet to try the adjacent japanese restaurant. The ambience doesn't seem as good as the italian part. I wonder if the food's good?

Although having a restaurant right in the middle of the mall is a bit weird, I guess having grew up in HK I've gotten used to it.

Their dinner menu is antipasto + primo $320 or antipasto + secondo for around $360. For antipasti you could either select from the buffet or order from the menu. The buffet had a decent selection of antipasti. I had 2 rounds and was satisfied.

The bread basket was not bad. Sun dried tomato one was OK, I liked the rye and walnut one. Grissini was not bad either.

For main I had seafood spaghetti with seafood in cherry tomato sauce. Portion was just right and the sauce was well done. Would liked to have a bit more seafood. The mussels were fresh. Scallops were slightly overcooked and the squid was on the tough side. But overall not bad.

My favorite part was the decaf coffee!! It was soo fragrant and so smooth. Smelt and tasted great. Perfect end to a meal!

Service here is not bad although one female staff looked way tired and another older male staff just acted as if he was in a super hurry.. but all in all it was fine.

Didn't try any of their desserts since I'm not a big italian dessert fan at all

There are 2 sides to the restaurant. The left is a bit "noisier" and more casual, and a tad cheaper. The menu has a little more smaller dishes under $100. We dined on the right side, a bit more expensive.

Quite quiet on a sat night (I guess they mostly do weekdays business, understandably, as who would go there during the weekend?) Anyway over all the food wasn't bad, but not worth the high price.

The ambiance of the place was just OK. The couch is actually really comfortable, but the restaurant didn't have a cozy feel to it. The service was OK. Quite attentive. However when we asked for recommendations of the day, she hardly have any idea and just referred back to the menu. We KNOW what's on the menu, what do you recommend??

Anyway food-wise, there are some omakase dinners for $600+ to $800+, but the feel of the place didn't give me confidence of omakase, especially when I can't even see the chef..

The sashimi set dinner was $250 and the fish pieces were pretty fresh. The rice was not hot and enough and was hard!! A jap restaurant and your rice is poorly executed.. a big negative.. the set also comes with a steamed egg but it was really small and watery and unflavorful. The set also comes with a piece of chicken with some creamy sauce over it. It looked so disgusting I didn't even take a bite. =S Miso soup was on the salty side but was OK. Dessert was an ice cream scoop of your preferred flavor.

The beef set dinner was $180 and the beef was nice and tender! It comes with a small side salad. Not bad. Again, the rice was too hard and tastes like it was put into a microwave

The food ain't bad but definitely not worth the price.. perhaps for lunch this would be an OK spot but for dinner I don't think I'd be back.
