My bf and I stumbled on the place on a Saturday night and decided to give it a try since the decor looked cozy and everyone looked like they were having a good time. It was 8:30pm and we had no reservations made but they were able to accommodate since just the two of us. Whilst we sat we were given two glasses of free champagne (I assumed he was the boss), which was such a nice start! We sat upstairs and I loved it- generally I don't like taking off my shoes and having low tables but the setting and seats were warm and comfortable and really somehow transports u to morocco!! We had the mezze platter which was amazing- loved the hummus and salad! Next was the seafood paella which was rice with clams and shrimps on top cooked in a clay pot. For dessert the waitress recommended the blakava platter which was nice as well although nothing special about it really. All in all excellent service, extremely reasonable prices, and very nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

Terrible service Cries Oct 05, 2011

I came here once before when I passed by it with my bf. The hostess was a very friendly blonde French girl and my first visit was a quiet setting and I loved my sea bass and my bf really enjoyed the steak tartar. So for this visit I decided to venture again and I arrived at 12pm walk in and got a table. My bf was running late so I ordered a bottle of sparkling water and a glass of white wine to wait. At 12:15 the NEW brunette french hostess walked over to tell me to call and rush my companion?!? She said I need to make mines and his choice now for lunch since they will be busy soon?! She just stood there while I made the call. The food arrived at 12:20 and was cold by the time my bf arrived at 12:30. All in all the second time the beef tartar was more brown than pink- a sign the beef isn't fresh. Food is ok but with this kind of service there's better French places- I'd recommend La Marmite by Staunton or Saint Germain in Happy Valley!

Hmm how to begin? First time impression was nice little place, good ambience and decor. Liked the wooden tables for our belated bday celebration for my bf. Cool iPad menu but waiter failed to advise us it's only for our reference only not for direct order placement. Fair enough so I ordered a bottle of white and took them 15-20min to realize its out if stock and for my second choice on the white wine list they came back with a half bottle of red?! Finally the correct wine arrived while we were nearing our main course and at the time I just wanted to enjoy the night so left it at that. Pasta was too salty, cold cuts were nth special but I liked the thin crispy crusts of the pizza. Lastly I left my seat to notify the waitor to bring out the cake and he literally walked over, without cake in hand, just to ask me so whose the bday boy in front of all the guests. Hmm not too bright that one. Forgot to mention after we ordered our wine the waiter came over with a bottle of Dom. I was like I ordered white and all he said was ya but I want you to know we have Dom. It was truly an odd moment. May try again for pizza or lunch but definitely not good for larger crowds!

Always passed by but never tried. So for our one yr anniversary my bf booked this place to try. Very old school style as decor was dim and gives you the feeling of escaping hk...! All waiters on tux which was cute. We were seated promptly and I had the 3 course: goose liver (very nice and juicy), sea bass (my fav! Very big piece but extremely moist and sauce and seasoning did not overpower), souffle for dessert which I found very bland so traded with Huns raspberry creme brûlée which was very creamy and delish. Hun had 4 course with goose liver, clam soup (nth special), king shrimp (very buttery snd cheesey!). To top it all we shared a bottle of moet. Food was all in all excellent and service was above and beyond. Agreed with previous reviewers worth noting is the 2 waiters:1 table ratio enabling prompt service, liked them cleaning the crumbs on table (as it's non existent it seems in hk!) and the rose for the lady at the end The band did come over playing a Jason Muraz song but I agree it would be nice if they werestationed in on spot playing as it can be a bit awkward...! Great voices though! Definitely recommend this place for anyone seeking somewhere for a special occasion!

Went to this cozy place last week with my bf since it's close by to our place and cuz of the gd reviews below. At first sight I was a bit skeptical since we were the only table on a thur night during prime time. During our meal there were couple other customers but all there for takeout. We ordered the beef noodle, the soup was really aromatic and still remained light. The beef cubes were the best I've ever had! Perfect seasoning and oh so tender! Loved it loved it! We kept ordering uni sushi and it was as fresh as the ones I just had during our trip to japan. The waiter or owner was so attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back soon!
