Tempura has always been one of my favorite - acually i love all nearly all kinds of Japanese food.
This seems to be one of the best tempura restaurant in town, it is nicely decorated in a hotel setting.
Came for lunch on a sunny saturday, while the place is barely occupied, with only 3 guest including the two of us seated in the tempura table.
Both of us order a sushi tempura set -
The set includes quite a lot of food, we were first served with a refreshing salad.

Tempura was serve piece by piece - we were first served with 2 pcs of shrimp. (not very big in size- around finger size , while it was quite crispy. ) then we were serve with a piece of Ika (cuttlefish / octopus) taste pretty good, 1 pcs of each sweet potato and pumpkin tempura which both of us dosen't like much, lastly serve with a 蝦餅
Five Pcs Sushi Set include Tuna, Sweet Shrimp, Salmon and two types that i can't recall- the taste and look of it are satisfactory.
As for dessert - a fruit platterr is served
Overall the taste of tempura is quite nice, you also get 15% discount for HSBC Platinum card. However, it has come to my attention that the staff are more keen on serving Japanese client. as the guy sitting in the same tempura table order exactly the same set but were serve more items (Eg. Steam egg, Tempura Fish) and the Japanese Head chef made the tempura for the Jap client whereus our order was passed to a local guy,,,,,,,although i was already very full and satisfied with my set, i would like to be treated equally,....
Overall, this is worth trying as it represent quite good value for money (HKD 210) nice food & deco. but staff needs more training, hate to see their pigeon eyes

Celebrating my best friend's birthday, and finally settle in this home feel japanese restaurant!
Seated in a VIP room (the waitress told us that there is a min charge for the VIP room , think it is HKD1500 but not very sure, as there was 6 of us & we would definately make up to it )

As a warm up, we start off with a med size sake (上善如水) this sake is very light and 易入口and can make you drunk without you relizing...

As soon as we were seated, we were serve with the appetiser of the day (Salmon Head in Vinegar Sauce with Sesame) taste pretty good and refreshing...

Food that we ordered -

Crab - Delicious.... yummy... the 羔 is unbelievably sweet and the 肉is so fresh....a must try, not a very good picture that we took but it is so marvelous... i love it

秋刀魚剌身- First time trying it fresh (not grill).... the taste of this is fish is so special, very strong 魚味 and aftertaste...... but my friend dosen't like it much while i end up eating most of it....hahhahahhaha the waitress told us that this fish is seasonal for sashimi and only serve for a very short period of time

海螺- very 爽 but i don't like the texture very much, i would rather have 象拔蚌

牡丹蝦 with the 蝦頭 for sushi -delicious..... the head with sushi is so sweet..... i would rather not have the body in exchange for another bite of the head.....

Uni - Sweet & Fresh

Oyster - Don't know did not try this, Bday girl said it was good!

Other we order includes the following 赤貝 sushi, Tuna sushi, Cuttlefish Sushi - their sushi are smaller in size than usual while each set contains 4 pcs instead of 2 which i think is better as i don't need to stretch my mouth as wide.....

As for the hot dish we ordered
Skewers -
Ox Tongue - Good, Spiced up with salt & pepper Encore
Chicken wings - Not bad but the one in Robatayaki is better
Asparagus with Bacon - Good
Garlic - Not soft enough, have to ask waitress to take it back for redo.

As for closing really wanted to try their curry udon but by the time we finish off the 4th bottle of sake, i was too drunk to handle any more food.

Lunch buffet serve on every sat & sunday. Arrive at around 1:00pm the place is only half occupied. The two of us arrived and were nicely greeted by the staff, after being seated we were given an order sheet which list out food available including
Tempura, (shrimp & veggie)
Sashimi (Tuna, salmon akakai, 鯖魚, saba,and a few more - Not fresh, the color of the fish are very dull)
Udon, Soba, Miso soup, Deep fried Pork Chop, Dumplings.
I think the quality of the above is below standard and is not worth trying. Better off ordering skewers only

The Skewers were pretty good in comparison- although there is limited choice.

There were very limited choice available, it will be better if the restaurant considering cutting the tempura, sashimi and other food and concentrate on its skewers and to provide more choice. - (know that the restaurante may have to control its cost and would not provide pricy skewers, but it could consider providing more of other low cost skewers
eg. Garlic, eggplant, ox tongue etc)

Overall, it is a nice experience dinning in this restaurant, it also offer value for money as it dinner menu is much more expensive but given its limited choice i guess i won't be visiting this restaurant any time soon

The quality of the food has gone down signaficantly and the price has boost by at least 30%.
A bowl of chicken noodle cost $58.00 beef noodle for $98.00
I think it is a bit too costly

The taste of the noodle is ok but a lot of MSG is added, the soup is too sweet... Very thirtsty after eating it.

Ten of us went to this restaurant when it first open, the food was OK but the service was really below standard....We ordered two bottles of red wines. Half way through dinner, one of my friend notice that the back of his white T-Shirt was stained with red wine. We immediately question the waiter, it was not until then that he apologize for spilling wines over the back of my friend. As it was only a plain white T-shirt from Giordano...we accepted his apology. However, when we finish our dinner and paid for the bill we notice that the jacket of my other friend was also stained with red wines....We felt that they are suppose to inform us and made the apology immediately.... it seems as if that they are trying to get away with it by not mentioning it and making no apology.... The service is extremely unprofessional and below standard. A lot of trainning of their staff on ethics and proper manners is needed

We order a lot of food pasta, lamb chop, veal, salad and soup & etc... all tast OK except the veal.
