This restaurant was SUCH a disappointment! I'm not a person with extremely high expectations but, honestly! I have not been to such a bad restaurant for such a long time, absolutely rubbish! A colleague of mine introduced me to this restaurant in 2010, and back then, the udon was great. I ordered the beef udon, and ever since, I fell in love with it. It USED TO BE nice, soft chewy udon, soup was hot, full of flavor. You could tell they put in a lot of heart and effort into their udon. From then on, I became a usual 2012: went there with a friend, a cue was expected, we both thought it would be worth it. Once we entered, the waiter was rude, throwing the menus on the table and then walked back to their little waiter-group gossiping instead of serving. I ordered the beef udon and my friend ordered the pork udon. Pork udon arrived: the soup was not boiling in its stone bowl like its suppose to; could barely find any pieces of pork; udon was served separately, COLD; and where was the egg; my friend tried to look for it, could not and asked the waiter to provide us with another bowl, the waiter tried to look for it in front of it, found some egg white with no yolk and STILL did not want to give us a new bowl! She then asked her manager to come, and manager suggested US to add $3 for another egg. I mean, $3 is no big deal but of course by then my friend was put off from her bowl of udon and just cancelled it, the manager had absolutely no intention in keeping her customer... what kind of restaurant is this!! The beef udon was a disaster as well, warm instead of their famous boiling hot soup; commercialized udon, not the soft chewy udon they used to make. With the beef begin served as raw beef, that was the only thing right about my whole bowl of udon. The proportion was obviously scaled down from our previous encounters. Price wise, their udon used to be $50-$60 and of course with the price increase a price rise was well expected. But for a $72 bowl of udon for rubbish I could of bought a packet of $8 instant udon and it could've easily been better than their udon! During my horrible encounter inside this restaurant, I went off to the restaurant bathroom, had to wait for 10 minutes for one of their staff to come out, but while I was waiting along the sticky dirty corridor (theres a corridor between the kitchen and the toilet) I had a good peek into their kitchen: I'm not going to say much, all I'm going to say is, that it was off-putting. If ANYONE decides to go to this restaurant, make sure u walk through this corridor and peek into their kitchen first before you order, it'll put u off for good ;) In conclusion: d i s s a p o i n t m e n t !!!! had a nice meal here in general, sad that we couldn't see the lighting display due to the foggy weather though, must come here some other time to do so! for five people we had: Beef on prawn crackers spring rolls Roast chicken with red sauce (larm yu sauce) Big head prawns (one for each person) Grilled Eel Vegetable curry with garlic bread wow, that looks like a long list! anyways, we're a long term customer here at restaurant and this is what our family normally orders every single time we eat at this restaurant due to the fact that these are the best dishes! Appitizers: beef on prawns crackers are really nice as they compliment each other, theres never enough to go around, so if you go as a whole group, makes sure you order enough to satisfy! spring rolls are really nice as well, served to us when its still burning hot *make sure you watch that tongue*, its served with raw lettuces on the side, perfect when you wrap the lettuces around your spring roll and dip it in there fish sauce Mains: Roast chicken with red sauce (larm yu sauce), the sauce is absolutely divine! some people may not like it though, due to the special taste to it. The chicken itself is yummy too, the skin is really crunchy and the meat is nice and juicy, nice and hot when they served it to us. Big head prawns, our father was too kind ordering one prawn for one person, its delicious yet again, but for girls who don't want to eat that much, you can always go halves with your girlfriend. Vegetable curry with garlic bread, my all time favourite, you HAVE TO ORDER THIS WITH GARLIC BREAD! you'll understand why once you taste the aromatic curry, don't think you can call it spicy, so its alright for kids too. Also the beef brisket curry is yummy too, they alway make the brisket nice and soft Grilled Eel, can't say much due to the fact I don't eat eel, but do try if you do eat eel, I guess there is a reason why my family has been ordering this dish for years, right? Drinks: to compliment your meal you might want to try and order the coconut drink thats served from an actual coconut and lime soda, nice and light.

The first time I came upon this restaurant was two years ago, the first time I had their udon I was absolutely blown away! It was the best udon I've ever tasted at the time. Since then, I tried other udon at other japanese restaurants as well as in the hunt of great udon in other countries (after trying the udon here, it made me passionate about eating udon!) but it was just not the same, two years after, I STILL THINK THIS IS THE BEST UDON PLACE EVER! The best udon would be the beef soup noodle, made to perfection. The bowl is always served hot, the udon itself is nice and bouncy and chewy, the soup is just unexplainable, deeelicious! There are different grades of beef to pick from, I've tried all of em but personally, theres not much of a difference there. The only thing I don't like about this restaurant is that its too small, always have to line up during dinner time >.<, but hey, I guess its well worth it for a great bowl of udon, right? The waiters there are polite, their always busy though, no one ever picks up for phone. If you want to make reservations, try to book as early as possible, last time when they actually picked up to recieve my call, they told me I had to wait one week in advance for a table, yiks!! best burger i've had so far Came here on a Saturday night, first timer, was worried at first about this place being packed due to the fact that it was the weekends, we got to the restaurant at around 7 and there were one or two tables left, lucky us! Staff was very friendly, helped us to what ever we wanted, great service! Surrounding was awesome too, they had couches (like they have at Starbucks or pacific coffee) as well, so great place for those who want to chat for a bit. We ordered a Portobello cheese burger & melted cheese fries for two of us to share (both girls) proportion was perfect! Burger was deeelicious! the patty was succulent and juicy, sauce was just right, salad was great! one thing they could improve is the choice of buns, as i don't really like sesame seeds on my buns >.< Fries was oh-so-good! served to us hot, the cheese was perfect, just melted to perfection, no burnt bits Canot wait until I go back try out their fois gras beef burger and their soft shell crab burger! Highly recommended! Spent around $150 for two people including a Snapple. First timer to the restaurant, we felt like eating something western but couldn't be bothered going out to our normal dining spots out of sum jeng. We ordered two set meals: Ribs with fat fries & Peppers wrapped with chicken the ribs i thought was alright, bit too dry though had lots of fatty bits. they had a side of gravy with the ribs, but the sauce they already had on the ribs was different to the gravy? that i don't get, but it was great for dipping my fat fries i guess. meal was very original. peppers with chicken was alright, bit too original as well I though, nothing special, personally i thought the vegetables on the side was more delicious. soup: was so so, didn't even bother asking us what soups there was to choose from. Drinks came with our meals, you'd thing at a 'cafe' they'd make reasonable coffee right? wrong. its was bad, drank two sips, didn't even finish it so that was a bit of a let down for me. also the meal came with dessert, they gave us a scoop of black-sesame flavored ice cream, bit weird for my liking to have after a western meal. atmosphere would've been great for couples wanting a romantic evening, but due to the fact that they had an Indonesian store behind their restaurant and seeing it was a Sunday, all the family maids came out to play and sang karaoke really loud..... Very disappointing for such a nice store location, nice and discrete. Customer service was appalling!! didn't get much attention at all, we were outside waiting to be served, asked for the menu but the waiter told us to get it ourselves! Would definitely not recommend to friends to try this restaurant.
