After the eggy treat at Tai Cheong, Mum and I proceeded to another highly reputable local coffee shop (or stall?) in Central - Lan Fong Yuen. The pantyhose milk tea was said to be so good that even the Caucasians would flock in to give it a try. Well, I'm not from Hong Kong so I'm not in the position to query the status of Lan Fong Yuen among the other eateries which serves milk tea as well. However, milk tea is not a new thing to me as it is also widely ava...

Nam Ping Coffee Shop is the oldest surviving coffee shop in Macau. The shop is unique, in many ways. It is a cafe cum bakery serving nostalgic cha chan teng cuisine in Macau. The cafe has a nondescript shopfront with a plain-looking door, However, you'll be amazed by the quirky charm of its interior the moment you step into the cafe. They have an extensive menu and almost every item is prepared in perfection. Hence, it's difficult for diners even waiters to tell you what their s...

I was always filled with longing to try the Polo bun at Kum Wah Coffee Shop and my dream finally came true! On that particular morning when I got up early to prepare for my very first Disneyland tour, I hopped on the MTR at Yau Ma Tei Station to Mongkok Station and alighted at the exit the nearest to Bute Street. Took a leisure stroll down Sai Yeong Choi Street to reach Kum Wah coffee shop at Bute Street. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the buttery...

As an egg tart lover, I wouldn't mind tucking in tonnes of egg tarts just to satisfy my hunger pangs. As I'd written in my earlier review about Tai Cheong Bakery which I visited in the morning, I continued with my food hunt all the way from Central to Wanchai. Boarded a tram to reach Honolulu Coffee Shop but alighted at the wrong spot. I was miles away from Honolulu. Thought of giving up but the craving was far too strong and that motivated me to drag my exhausted feet to ...

I am a tourist from Malaysia. Having been told by many friends who have visited Tai Cheong bakery that their egg tart is an obligatory snack which one can't afford to miss, I decided to make a foodie trip to HK in early December. The egg tarts are so perfectly done and almost all the tarts look identical. I was so impressed with the skill of the pastry chef who can produce such brilliant masterpiece by hand. When I sunk my teeth into the piping hot egg tart, I found that the cus...
