Since the birth of my little boy, my honey and I now seldom date. For the very limited opportunities to re taste the life as lovers, I am always calculated to make every date a wonderful experience. Therefore, I decided to look for a restaurant which we never went before.
Following the recommendation of fellow diners, we ordered:-
Potatoe Salad
Allegedly made with potatoes from Japan. That I cannot be certain. Most mashed with a few cubes for chewing. On top some mayonaise. I say above average. My honey says good.
Pork & Rice
3 very big pieces of pork. Every piece is of 1 - 1.5 mm in terms of thickness. There is a thin line of fat for every piece of pork. Good to find that the fat is not oily. Perhaps in the course of the cooking the oil was already taken away.
The sauce is a bit too sweet.
The pork in itself does not taste special.
Both the quality and the quantity of the rice are very impressive.

Japanese curry Hamberg Pork Chop with Rice
The pork chop is very big. The curry tastes strong. It is very mildly hot. Should be ok to most girls. But I cannot taste or smeel the fragrance of the spice. The curry sauce is not as sweet as expected (most Japanese curry is quite sweet). I say the pork chop hamberg taste average. My honey loves it.

Taking into account the price, location, waiiting time and the quality of the food, I will say Noren is a fair dining place.

It was my birthday. Darling asked me what I wanna eat. I said something I had never tried before.
When she told me to wait for her at the Elements, I thought she was gonna bring me to that "wooluwoolu" steak house. Apart from that I was unable to think of any other places. It turned out to be Fire of W Hotel.
I must say that most of the waitresses there are carefully chosen. Very attractive appearance. Not necessarily pretty but either sweet or charming or lovely. The deco of the place is very modern. Atmosphere is fine.
It was doing Brazilian BBQ that evening. I never tried this before.
There was a chef walking around with a gigantic skewer. Everytime something different. It could be veal, lamb, chicken rolls, sausages etc.. And they gave you a big plastic coin. If you want more meat or sausage, you simply turn the coin to the green side and the chef would come to you. If not, turn it to the red side and it mean "No. Thanks. No more meat for the time being".
There were starters and side dishes. Not particularly impressive.
Btw, when the waiter was introducing them to us, I asked him to do so in Cantonese and he appeared to be very impatitent. But for this waiter, I would have given full marks for service.
All the veal, chicken, sausage and lamb were well marinated. Very tasty but a bit too strong.
The veal was ok.
The chicken and the sausages tasted too strong.
The lamb rack was excellent. A little bit of fat can help bring out the taste of the lamb and make the mutton more juicy.
The best part was the pineapple. It was covered by cinnemon sugar outside before being roasted. The pineapple was sweet and juicy.
The dessert was custard pudding. Very rich. As usual, comes with caremel sauce. But too rich after having had so much meat so I didnt manage to finish the pudding.
Price was approximately $500 per head. I would say a bit too expensive coz I dont normally eat a lot and the food does not require much cooking skills.

Macau之旅 Day 2 嘅早餐, 原本係銀禧, 發覺銀禧執笠後想去禮記食雪糕, 途中見到皇冠, 醒起澳門旅發局有staff 介紹過就入去試下。點左半窩奄仔水蟹粥 (MOP 115), 幾鮮甜, 老婆超鍾意, 我覺得中上啦, 下次會去誠昌或者峰景 (澳氹橋附近果間)試下第二間嘅水蟹粥。

蝦籽撈麵都幾多蝦籽, 老細吹虛要2000幾蚊包, 但我真係覺得唔夠香, 香港桃花源啲蝦籽好佢成條街, 反而辣醬/辣油幾香.......

34歲生日, 老婆幫我安排咗個澳門之旅, 第一餐我揀咗去六棉
坦白講我從未聽過六棉, 都係出發前一晚上黎openrice先知有呢間酒家, 到酒店後concierge都冇人聽過, 咪話唔驚。 澳門好多的士司機會用盡各種辨法游說乘客去佢地有回佣嘅食肆, 呢次一樣, 的士佬恫嚇我地話六棉會劏人, 又話唔會泊架的士埋去費事賺50 MOP回佣, 一聽佢咁講, 定晒 lol
去到見到座無虛席, 雖然有好多魚翅鮑魚poster, 但絕大多數食客係澳門人, 都係飲下茶一盅兩件果隻, 我地就更加放心勒。 不過黎到澳門我好想食好D, 飲茶香港都有啦, 所以點左:-
杏汁豬肺湯 MOP 60
超香杏汁味, 豬肺亦洗得好干淨, 食唔出味精, 果然係招牌菜, 經理話午餐實有得賣, 但晚餐時段最好預定呢個湯, 唔係好易冇得飲
花膠扣鵝掌 MOP 150左右 (exact figure 忘記了)
花膠質素普普通通, 量就交到貨, 百零蚊貨仔ok啦; 鵝掌好稔, 啲汁夠濃夠香, 墊底嘅津白索完啲汁好好味
日本30頭吉品鮑 MOP 300
當然細細隻啦, 不過好稔好入味, 唔太溏心, 但個汁好正, 另送鮑汁生菜一大碟, 整體黎講算物有所值
大馬站煲 (唔記得幾錢了, 幾十蚊左右啦)
蝦醬好香, 份量恰當, 啲燒肉皮開頭仲脆, 燒肉係半肥瘦, 唔肥膩, 份量都唔細

I am a crazy food lover. And for good food, my catchment area is much wider than Hong Kong....

I have been to this restaurant for 3 to 4 times already. If I stay overnite at Macau, I will always give this restaurant a phone call to book a seat and reserve a big fat curry crab. In general the food served are of relatively good quality but I always under rate them because the curry crab always comes first. hehe...

Um... it is quite difficult to tell how yummy the curry crab is... Try my best la. Firstly, the curry itself is not that hot. If the curry is too hot, then it kills the taste of the crab itself. Then the curry has a very strong aroma but it is not the sort which will choke you, or which makes you thirsty. The curry goes very well with the taste of the crab meat itself. The best means to explain how tasty the curry crab is....... My wife and I always order a few pieces of bread. And by the time we finish with this dish, the dishwasher does not have a lot to do. The plate is normally clean!

If you ask me, I would say in terms of food this restaurant is definitely much more impressive than 帆船 & 海灣 restaurants.

In terms of service, there is always only one auntie who is very friendly and gives you a home feeling rather than the professional courteous waitress. I personally think it is good enough. But be prepared that one may need to wait for say 20 - 30 minutes before food is served. Treat this as a food pilgrimage. Be patient.

In terms of environment and atmosphere, forget about it. This is not a candle lite dinner place where you can have a violinist.... It is only neat and tidy. That's it. Dont expect anything.

Btw, I am having another prilgrimage again tomorrow.......... hahahahaha
