chatted with the shop owner (who was really friendly smile) and realised that they just moved from the market down to a shop.
we ordered a pig knuckle noodle, a "cheung fun' and two cups of soya milk. firstly the pig knuckle was really good! it was soft and tasteful and there were lots of meat/skin to eat unlike some pig knuckle outside where there are only bones mad the noodle has a nice texture (very al dente lol) and there were quite a lot of it.
the 'cheung fun' however was not as good. it was bit too soft and the shape doesnt stay..... sad it was not as good as the noodle
the soya milk was just average, it wasnt bad but it wasnt special either.

bought their cream cheese honey crepe today and it was pretty good. the crepe was soft and juicy (the way i like them smile i just cant stand crispy MK style crepes mad) the cream cheese was slightly sour O.o but it was good. there were quite a bit of fruits but way too much cream sad
overall its worth a try but its not the best crepe shop i've tried

came here today and tried their salmon and mushroom rice pizza and the octopus "takoyaki"-like patty.

the salmon and mushroom rice pizza was really nice and delightful. the sides are crisy but not fry. there were a lot of salmon and even more cheese which i absolutely loved lol there were enough fillings and they were pretty fresh too. smile

the octopus patty was still hot when it was served and the sauce was really appetising. the octupus were thickly cut and there were a lot of cabbages too =D

overall a nice place to relax and eat at but some of the waitresses werent very friendly sad which really affects the overall atmosphere

had lunch with my friend here and the noodles were appalling huffy
the soup was very bland, it tasted nothing like good vietnamese stock, infact it was only slightly better than plain water. the noodles were way too soft so the texture wasnt very appealing and the noodles werent hot enough. sad
overall, a horrible take on vietnamese cuisine but what do we expect? it is a food court afterall and not a proper restaurant.

location/ atmosphere: nicely situated in a quiet part of whampoa but still within walking distance of the main streets and shopping malls. the decors reminded me of restaurants i visited in italy and the music played were relaxing and appropriate. it's a great place for couples to go on a date or for people to bring their parents to for a nice relaxing meal at a very reasonable price.

food: the restaurant runs a semi-buffet where you choose your main course from a pre-set list. I chose a baked fish with mashed potato and it was amazing smile the fish was so juicy and fresh and there were even salmon roe on top of it. the mashed potato soaked up all the juice from the fish and also the cream sauce therefore it was literally exploding with flavours. the vegetables that came along were still fresh and crunchy unlike some restaurants. the salad bar fashions a variety of vegetables, cherry tomatoes, salmon, pasta and potato salad, and a number of sauces such as honey mustard, caesar and thousand island. Everything was fresh and very tasty.

overall, a great restaurant and i will definitely visit this place again and again and again..... smile
