surprisingly quick in delivery even in bad weather - served hot, dhows some improvement

紫芋甘栗薯餅 $28 for 2 (cut to 4 each) - taste good
金菇牛肉卷 $ 36 for 3 - taste fair, lots of black pepper

客飯: -soup + dish + 2 bowl of rice

dont be fooled by the quantity, the bowl was small.
environment - not spacious between tables & we moved a few time for waiters to open the refigerator at the back..quite annoying

food, actually not as good as comment from previous previews. portion acceptable, served hot but taste so so. Pan fried dumpling was the best pick this time. Service - dont expect much la.

give up to order appetizer as this was too difficult to move around & go to see the choices as most other old-fashioned shanghai restaurants.

soup - not interested, no idea the quality
鍋貼 - 5 pcs
白菜獅子球 - so so, not attractive
回鍋肉 - ok la

also, we found something like 10% service charge added on the bill.

strange menu & waiters
- 4 tourists sat by our side & they were given English/ Chinese menu. They were struggling what to order & we tried a bit to introduce. They saw us having 鍋貼 & I wanted to show this item to her from the menu..but it only appeared on the chinese version, not the bilingual one. When they finally ready to order, it took another 5 min before the waiter come (we guessed only one waiter can speak English & every other waiters run away when they saw the tourist)

just much choice after shopping at Ikea till late. Fd said this restaurant was good every time they went so I followed them inside.

I have tried the one in North Point (great) & the one in Prince Edward (so so) so I hoped this one would be ok as they most of the time it's full house.

we ordered water instead of chinese tea so that we would be able to sleep, however, the water tasted strange, heavy smell of bleach...i hated it.

we could not order a lot of dishes for only 3 ppl. so

- 2 menu showing different price of this dish, $88 vs $68..strange, we clarified with waitress, she said $88 being the regular price but it's on promotion $68
- the Price Edward branch said they add fish in this dish so we wanted to clarify. Waitress was not polict & clear to answer us. The other one (looked like manager) finally confirmed the ingredient
- crab - not too litte but taste not quite good
- 炒鮮奶 (egg white & milk) - terrible - taste bad & i a lot of oil oin the dish. this is the worst 大良炒鮮奶 i ever had in HK

沙田..豆腐
- fd's favourite, stable quality
- contain bbq pork & mushroom too
- tofu - most of them ok but a few cube tasted a bit sour
- suace not to thick & taste good

plain steamed rice
- not good & definitely not worth it at $11 @

but the manager was helpful & keep smiling when serving us

when i wondered what to eat in a rush, i passed this bakery & attracted by the crowd inside & the smell of bread. There were quite a lot of choices, i wish i knew this shop months ago when i could not eat Eggs.

they actually indicated individual item contains or Not contain eggs. besides ordinary items, also some bags of buns so u can grab & go.


I took seseme bun since it looked good. the seseme smell good & I guess there was an extra process as it tasted better than other bakery. bread was soft & good

being not contented with Satay King's white curry pork chop..I was seeking for another opportunity for delicious pork chop. When we went to HKUSPACE office in Mei Foo, we have no hesitation to go to 餃子妹

we ordered 香茅豬扒菜飯 & glad to know it always look the same. Portion was large & more than enough for a lady, but just right for a man

香茅豬扒 - juicy & delicious; they were cut to strips after deep fried, conveneint (never the same as some restaurant which cut before deep fried & pork was too dried)
菜飯 - so so

I no longer recalled whether we liked the dumplings here but a lot of ppl order noodle with dumplings this night. I also checked the menu, the dishes were not expensive & they show "spicy" & "veggie" sign which seldom used in small restaurants.

cant expect good environment/ service in small restaurant but still acceptable, floor was wet sometimes
