Located on the 2nd floor of 灣仔's 鵝頸街市, 惠記has been around for many years for the best curries and Halal food. The place are still going strong, very popular with local Hong Kong ppl. and Muslim residents. Its 'curry lamb brisket' (咖喱羊腩) is my top choice. I usually bought several orders ($33 each order) back home, heated them up with additional red chillies (for extra spiciness) and a tub of plain yoghurt (to extra sauce and creaminess). You can have the curry lamb or beef right at 惠記as rice dish ($21 iirc), but the meat portion will be considerably less, and the curry has very little sauce for your rice as it was cooked in such a way that the entire batch of curry were reduced to very thick gravy and lamb (or beef) fat, so if you can cook, I recommend you buy an order or two, bring it home, and make more sauce by yourself (with yoghurt / coconut milk / water, or anyway you want).
Besides the famous curries, 惠記also have regular 燒臘, 潮州's 鹵水鵝翼just like regular 燒臘鋪. However, it serves Halal food so don't ask for pork; it a no-no for Muslims!
Bottom line: if you love to eat tasty 咖喱羊腩at affordable price, you won't go wrong with 惠記.
