My friend has desired to try good quality ramen for a long time, that’s why I recommend 豚王! Honestly, it was really quite hard to find the exact location of the shop, but luckily we arrived at one. When arriving in front of the shop, I was really shocked, not because of the long queue, but the vanished queue!! Remember the last time I went to the shop in Central, I waited for 30 minutes in a rainy day, that’s why it was so surprised to know the truth that you can get a seat without waiting.Again
Again, I ordered the famous and original ramen of the shop. This time, more choices of ingredients were provided. Instead of offering 肩肉 (meat cut into thin slices), 角煮 was a new item for me, it was a whole meat without cutting into small pieces. Apart from the meat, vegetables was offered to customers.
It didn’t take long for the staff to bring us the noodles. I was so excited as I enjoy eating the thin ramen. Mixed all the ingredients with chopsticks, I first got a taste of the soup, the soup tasted better, it was not so oily this time (though you could clearly see some oil floating around the bowl)! Ramen was perfectly cooked. What disappointed me was 角煮, the meat is indeed too oily and a bit hard to chew, I would prefer small slices next time! Soup of the ramen is the essence, the tasty and very rich. Though it is not healthy to drink it all, I drank two third of it!
Seems there are some good restaurant nearby, hope I will come again so soon to try it out!!
As I know from friends, the ramen is now offered as instant noodles that you are able to eat it at home! However, I wont make a try, it is obvious that hardly can the big fresh bowl of ramen compared with the newly promoted one in supermarket. Undoubted it is convenient and save you so much time, but you won’t feel satisfied. At least you need to really sit in the shop, surrounded by the Japanese style decorations and staff speaking Japanese.
