This shop closes sporadically on random weekdays so have to try your luck if you want egg puffs or waffles. I sometimes come to Shau kei wan for lunch so I try to stop by everytime and see if they're open. It's hard to resist getting something when I pass by even though I may be full from lunch. It's just that good! First time, I tried their egg puffs and I was impressed by the crispiness on the outside and chewiness on the inside. This batch I had was actually still a bit liquidy on the inside
First time, I tried their egg puffs and I was impressed by the crispiness on the outside and chewiness on the inside. This batch I had was actually still a bit liquidy on the inside and I don't know if it's on purpose, but it added to the overall texture so the egg puff doesn't get too dry and hard as it cools down.
I actually prefers their waffle with everything inside like peanut butter, condense milk, and sugar. They ask you if you want to cut it in half and put in two separate bags, and once they even cut it into quarters for us because more of 2 of us were sharing. The waffle is just perfect in texture and not too hard, and the amount of condiment inside resulted in the perfect blend of flavor, which reminded me of my childhood taste. Only downside here is you gotta walk/stand and eat.
