Coincidentally after I read an article about a new snack shop in MK and had it marked down on my to-eat list, I had the chance to try something from Three Potatoes the same evening. The shop happened to be around the corner of where I usually train.

A friend brought two boxes of deep-fried mini 'mantous' (Chinese steamed buns) and a box of tiramisu-like food. At first no one knew how to eat the mantous. The correct way of eating was to dip the buns into the cream. What a new way of eating Chinese traditional buns!
The fusion was not weird at all. Whip cream and chocolate powder blended well with the crispy bun – clever replacement for the usual condensed milk accompaniment. What I did not like about this snack was that it was too oily. With each bite, oil would burst out of the mantou – eek!

As a way of greeting the weekend, I decided to visit Three Potatoes myself. I originally wanted to try the Three Potatoes (叁薯), but it was sold out. The lady at the shop then suggested Two Potatoes (貳薯), which I think turned out to be a wiser and healthier choice. The snack was rösti – consisting of finely shredded potatoes and duck meat topped with sour cream, green onion and paprika. By the time I got home, the potato snack had cooled down, but I did not bother reheating it. I must say it was delicious. Adding meat was ingenious as it added rich flavour to the potatoes. Imagine how good it would have been if eaten in front of the shop hot!
