We had been meaning to visit Islam Food for some time and after our long anticipated visit, we are already planning our next meal there.  The food is simply fabulous.

We arrived at about 2.30 in the afternoon to a fully packed house.  We got a number and after about 10 minutes a space opened on one of the tables.  We sat down and quickly ordered two of the famed veal goulash (actually beef pies/cakes), a mutton curry and some scallion pancakes.

Tea was given to us immediately and was soon followed by the goulash.  The piping hot little pastries were unbelievably good.  Biting into the crispy exterior, we got a burst of soup and the satisfying taste of perfectly seasoned meat.  Wonderful.  Next time, we're going to order four.

Next came the curry and the scallion bing.  The curry was delicious.  Slow cooked and deep in flavour.  The sauce was rich and the potatoes were soft and perfect for sopping up the sauce.  The mutton itself was melt in the mouth.  It fell of the bones.  We used the bing to eat the remaining sauce and we literally wiped the bowl clean.

The entire cost was 124 dollars and the staff were busy, but accommodating.  It has got to be one of the best meals we have eaten in HK.

HIGHLY recommended.
