I always liked Doraemon as a kid. Back in those days the robotic cat was called 'Ding Dong'. A while ago, I learned that Nippon Sushi Dining was decorated with Doraemon scenes and characters. I never got to go see the latest movie, which was in theatres a month ago and I certainly did not think I would make it in time to see the decorations. The restaurant changes its theme every once in a while. To bid farewell to a colleague who was leaving the company, we decided to eat lunch at Nippon Sushi
To bid farewell to a colleague who was leaving the company, we decided to eat lunch at Nippon Sushi Dining. As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I felt like a kid again. I was so happy to see Ding Dong everywhere. Everything was decorated with scenes from the animated movie. There was even a spot for people to take pictures. And of course, I did not miss that. The restaurant's (usual) interior had train handles hanging from each sitting area. When it came to order, we all picked something out of the lunch specials. I had a Pork Cutlet with Egg in Curry Sauce Udon as main dish and Salmon Rose with Mango as appetizer. As for the drink, I ordered a Chrysanthemum Ginger Honey (菊花薑密). The fresh Salmon Rose was wrapped round rice, which was then topped with mayo, a sweet piece of mango and fish roe. Five different textures in one. I would not mind having seconds. It took some time for the udon to arrive. As soon as I had a bite, I was in awe. The udon covered in sweet Japanese curry was amazing. It was not just me being hungry, the dish was simply delicious. The curry consisted of carrots and potatoes and covered half of the cutlet, making it softer than the rest. There was also smooth scrambled eggs inside. On top of the bowl was a runny yolk, which I poked and ate with udon that was free from curry just to have a different taste. That was some food!
