Recently, I found this high end resturant located in Central that seemed very popular in the internet. Thus, I was eger to bring one of my great friend to come and try out this American Style high end resturant with me and see if it really live up to the hype. The restaurant is located on the 6th floor of the LKF tower. When arriving the tower, it quickly come to our mind that the dinner me and my partner are getting tonight is no fool-around dishes. We entered the building from a high class hot
Overall speaking, the restaurant gave us a great high class and vintage feeling. The dining environment was pleasant with the foil of the romantic candlelit dinner and the beautiful Central night view. The restaurant attracts people from different walks of life, for instance, office ladies, office men, foreigners or couples. In which I think that the place was really a good relaxing place for a chilling night chat with your dearest mate.
The waiters’ and waitress’ attitude were all quite well. They were kind when asked to do any service. Moreover, they were kind enough to inform us the dishes’ names and how customers were encouraged to eat each dishes. Overall speaking, they are quick to response. In addition, the food serving rate were spot on, making the eating experience great. Waiters often come to the desk and ask the customer about the quality of the food served, making sure the customers are satisfied with the dishes. All waiters and waitress were wearing shirts, making them look professional and smart, which was always great when knowing that your food is in the pro’s hand. The menu was all in English, in which this could be difficult for non-native English speaker to read and understand. Maybe a spare Chinese menu upon request in the future?
Coming to the food part. The appetizer was Bread and Dip and my drink of the night was Three Grapes and A Cup. The bread were a bit dry and hard, in addition, it requires a bit of chewing work to do when eating. The two sauce for the bread however were quite nice, the combined taste of the bread and the dip were satisfactory. The brandy of the 3 Grasp was quite strong, (a bit too much for my partner). However, I think it’s quite the match for a man’s chilling evening dinner. As shown by the name, the bar tender used three different colored grasp for the wine. And the grasps were all fresh and sweet. The wine and the three grasp were all icy cold. I was fascinated by the grasps in particular, in which the sweetness of the grasps in combination with the cold outer layer were an instant delicious hit in my mouth. Amazing.
Overall, the appetizer and drink were all nice. The dip for the bread were well made, and the brandy and grasps were quite a match as well.
For the main course, we ordered the Cedar River Beef Tartare and Portobello Carpaccio. Fristly, The plating for the dishes were all well done. The dishes looked colorful and attractive. To be honest, I personally felt that the ordered chaos on the two dishes were indeed spot on. For the Beef Tartare, the beef was raw but very palatable. The meat was very soft and easy the chew. In second layer, seconds after putting the tartare into your mouth, it incidentally melt within your mouth making the taste very remarkable. By mixing wasabi and the egg together with the Tartare, it added a bit more kicks on the meat itself, making the combination of taste a great enjoyment. For the Tartare, the beef was in bright red color, which shown that the meat was very fresh. When it was as fresh as like this, you knew it’s full of protein and energy. This was the first time I have a Beef Tartare, before, I was concerned about the rawness and smell of the uncooked beef. However, I finally made up my mind to try my first Tartare in this restaurant, hoping that it won’t let me down, and thankfully the dish literally blow my mind, easily making it my new favorite dish. Secondly for the Portobello Carpaccio, the mushrooms were quite raw as well, but its texture were very tender and easy to eat. For the Portobello Carpaccio, the mushrooms were also very fresh and clean.
Finally, coming to dessert, we have the Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookies as the final cloesing dish. The Chocolate Chip Cookies was very warm when served on. Together with the Vanilla ice-cream, this was like the combination of ice and fire. The Chocolate cookies were very delicious. The cookies were very sweet if not too sweet. The cookies were baked till nearly scorched, which gave the cookies just that little bit more fragrant on it. Together with the Vanilla ice-cream, it made a great finishing touch to this wonderful dinner. Overall speaking, I am quite impressed by this final desert. Although it’s a bit sweeter than what I preferred, but I think the taste is very nice. In conclusion, this restaurant to me is quite a well-developed high class American restaurant with a great variety of delicious food choices. In addition, I am impressed by the idea of this restaurant bar, and the relaxation it gives to its consumer. Although the price for food here isn’t the friendliest, but given the high quality dishes it provides, I believe it’s more than worthy. If you are a man who would like to impress your girlfriend on a date with your taste of picking up high-end restaurant, this is definitely a go to choice I recommend. Impressive.
