This must be a rather new restaurant as I have not come across it before. It's a rather big restaurant and given how efficiently they are already operating I guess this must be run by an experienced and sizable F&B conglomerate. The menu was cleverly priced, capturing both the price-conscious end of the market as well as those who are prepared to spend more.

If you want rice or ramen, you can get away spending as little as $58 for lunch. This is super reasonable for Landmark. If you want the Chinese dishes or sushi, though, you'll have to pay triple/quadruple that amount. For a more balanced, higher-protein meal, you might have to go for the Chinese options that are pricier.

As a colleague was kindly treating me to lunch, I thought it more appropriate to pick something simple and went for a grilled pork rice ($58), as the other rice/ramen choices were all gluten-heavy. My colleague had an assorted sushi platter with 9 pieces of sushi ($150-$200) and a Kikusan signature sushi roll (forgot the price--probably $120-$200). The kikusan signature roll was essentially cucumber sushi roll topped with raw tuna, salmon roe and sea urchin. He shared some of the sushi with me and I had the amaebi and one of the signature rolls. The sushi roll was not easy to share as the sashimi on top would all collapse.

We walked in at 11:50am with less than two minutes of waiting and were asked whether we would be happy to leave at 12:45pm (more like being informed). The restaurant is clearly very stressed about the high volume of customers. Since we had work to do, this wasn't a problem for us.

Waiting staff were efficient and professional. The food came within ten minutes. My pork-on-rice had a ratio of 1-to-20. It also came with a mountain of negi (green onion). The pork was very thinly sliced and extremely fatty, and it was deep-fried in an oil tank. The rice was a blend of different varieties of grains and was hard enough for my liking, but there was simply too much of it. I regretted my choice.

The amaebi (raw sweet shrimp) sushi was quite okay. I liked how the portion of rice under the sashimi was much smaller than typically seen in sushi shops, giving the whole sushi a much meatier texture in the mouth. I also had some of the salmon roe and sea urchin. The sea urchin was fresh.

This was overall a decent lunch, although slightly too noisy as I kept failing to hear what my colleague was saying. Seats were comfortable and the tables were not too small. I look forward to coming again to try their Chinese dishes.
