We came here on a quiet Thursday afternoon and found the place quite busy.  This was our first good sign.  The next good sign is that they basically do two dishes, with different options for noodles.

After being seated, we ordered a bowl of the brisket noodles and a bowl of the curry tendon noodles.  For both we opted for the e-fu noodles.  When I ordered my curry, the owner said 'it is tendon, you like tendon?'.  Very kind of him to double check, but I confirmed that I do like tendon and that they shouldn't be shy with it.

A few minutes later the two bowls came out to us.  The brisket was very tender and fell apart easily.  It sat on a bed of nice e-fu noodles that had a good chew to them.  The broth was excellent.  Ther was no trace of MSG and it had a lovely savoury and salty taste.  It was light, yet satisfying.  When a spoon of chili was added to it, the bowl really sang and came to life.

The curry noodles were joyous   The same e-fu noodles were the starch and they bathed themselves in a bath of light, but deeply flavoured curry broth.  The broth was somewhere between a soup and a sauce in terms of thickness.  It was more on the savoury, rather than the sweet side compared with other HK curries.  The beef was also tender, but the tendon was glorious.  Soft and sticky, it had the mouth coating quality of well cooked tendon.  Some don't like the jelly texture, but for me it is wonderful.  The combination of tenber beef, tendon, e-fu noodles and curry was a resounding success.

Quick service, reasonable prices and great food.  There is a reason that this place has been in business for 90 years.
