Came across the restaurant's newest afternoon tea promotions online and the pictures looked too gorgeous...so I immediately made a reseravation to have a try.The tea set for 2 cost $488 + service charge. The tea set for 2 cost $488 + service charge. Quite reasonable for top-tier hotels like Mandarin Oriental. The tea started off with a brochure about Chloe. After waiting for like 20 minutes, the tea set finally came. Three layers with a tin of scones. Top layer. The bacon, onion and cheese quiche was my personal favorite. Bottom layer. Sandwiches:
Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Homemade Pumpernickel Bread
Mature Ham, Mustard, Wholemeal Bread
Beef, Horseradish, Watercress, Onion Bread
Cucumber, Dill, Egg, Mayonnaise, Soft White Bread The most anticipated part - the pastries. Looked really pretty and colorful! Close-ups of the pastries. I found the white chocolate dome (with the white ribbon) too sweet and the berry mousse cake a little bit too sour. Others are just fine.
In general, I found the tea set pretty pleasant, especially the presentation. It is worth a try for afternoon tea lovers.
