Pacific Coffee Company is Hong Kong's answer to Starbucks. A while ago, I tried the Starbucks affogato that was offered at Fashion Walk and really liked it. So, when I walked by this new Pacific Coffee Company shop in Midtown, I noticed they also served affogato. Apparently, only three branches serve this : Midtown, Han Hing Mansion and Pacific Coffee Emporium (also in Causeway Bay). The shop is located on the ground floor of Midtown. The shop is located on the ground floor of Midtown. It's not a very big shop but seats are fairly comfortable with a decent long table for large groups. Two affogatos are offered. Vanilla and strawberry. You have the option of having it with expresso (what an affogato is) or chocolate milk (which technically NOT an affogato but I don't know why this is offered). Price is $48. Vanila affogato with expresso ($48). Price was the same as the Starbucks one but size was larger. Not only was I given two scoops of ice cream (which was decent enough) but my shot of expresso was larger. So, if you are going for bang for the buck, this will offer you more for what you paid for as opposed to Starbucks. However, the coffee was not as hot as Starbucks so when I poured it over the ice cream, it didn't really melt well. There were crunchy chocolate balls. I preferred Starbucks crunchy caramel praline more as it gave it a more sophisticated texture.
