So me and my girlfriend went to lunch in this restaurant which is in my hotel. I read through the comments in openrice when we first sat down then I was like, oh my god, the comments were so mean. Then I tried to ask my girlfriend to leave this place and it sounds like the food is going to be really bad, however the waiter was being nice and that's why we sat down.. I then showed my girlfriend the comments of this restaurant and she felt quite a bit of scary too, but we have sat down so nevermind, just give it a try.

So let's talk about the cold starters first, the first cold starter would be some sashimi, smoked salmon, salad, parma ham with papaya and loads of seafood. The seafood was quite fresh, but the crap leg was a bit too salty. The sashimi was really good, it was big, soft and the it was well cut by the sushi chef. They were quite fresh that when it goes into your mouth, you would enjoy the taste so much until it feels like it's melting. Those fresh sashimi with a little bit of wasabi and sweet soya sauce made me feel so good and that I started to like this buffet lunch. I also liked the smoke salmon with a little bit of those salad, which I can mix and match with them for a bit, and it actually tastes not bad, so me and my girlfriend starts to forget about those mean comments on openrice, and ate whatever we wanted to try. As I dont often come to Hong Kong, or even Asia, I rather tried some more 'local food' thingy, so I searched in the buffet section, and I found noodles with soup. The noodles with soup was also nice, loads of ingredients to choose, and you have two kinds of soup u can choose too. I tried both noodles and I liked them so much. I could not help myself taking more and more food, and there was some tiny chinese chicken rice, so I took 3 of them and put on soya sauce and tried. It was not especially good, as the rice was a bit too sticky, and the chicken was small, but the taste was not too bad.

For the dessert part, there was loads of choices, that I did not know which one to take, but I wanted to try as much as I could, so I chose to grap some minicups desserts, some cakes. I did not know what they were exceot those I always like to eat. For example like, Chocolate Mousse, Tiramitsu and some Haagendiz icecream, they tasted so good. The best one must be the Cream Brulee among all the desserts, that the surface of it was crunchy, but not too hard, and the inside of it was really soft. The taste of egg was also quite strong, with the nice seasoning of some caramel, the Cream Brulee might be one of the best food in the restaurant.

After trying these loads of food by me and my girlfriend, we think it actually was not that bad, and in fact, some of the dishes were quite nice too. And therefore I want to clarify for the restaurant that it was not that bad, really, as setting this low price as the price of a buffet restaurant in a hotel with this kind of quality, the restaurant actually was quite good on balancing quantity and quality of food.

The service was really good too, servants removed empty or dirty plates very fast, so that everytime I sat down the plates were already cleaned up by them. Moreover, they also refill water very frequently, that I think the service was difinately showing that the restaurant was under control of a 5 star hotel management.

As a conclusion, with this kind of price trading back this quality of food and service, I think it does worth it and I would tell my friends and family members, that if they come to Hong Kong and do not know where to live in, Regal Hong Kong Hotel would be strongly recommended, stating Cafe Rivoli as one of the reasons.
