QRE in Wan Chai is bursting with new eateries practically every single month. Finally I went to go try the Spanish Tapas joint called Quemo situated on the 5th floor of the building. I do love me some Spanish Tapas.Manchego $68. I love Manchego cheese. And, this was delicious. Wish it came with more pieces- but overall the texture and taste of the cheese was very good.Iberico Ham Croquetas, from 5J and Joselito Jamon $78. These were decent. Nice and light, fluff...

Quemo is a busy Spanish restaurant that offers consistent atmosphere and taste.  This is our 4th visits since their opening and I must say that she is still our top of mind choice for a classic, simple, tasty, well served and happy Spanish experience. 2 of us have tasted the below in this ocassion: Beef-heart Tomato Salad with Tuna Tataki ($70) - this small portion was just right for 2 pax.  It was simple but it delivered clean and refreshing taste.  This was a pe...

The jamon was a true spectacle; the marbling was the purest of whites and it was aged to tasty perfection - a larger platter is also available for HK$328/AU$47. Each gamba was steeped in the fragrant garlic and cava reduction, providing a delightful pop in the mouth; they were distinctly sweet and ideal for sharing amongst the table. The tomato bread was a unique canvas for the smokey jamon, as well as the anchovies which were dusted lightly with queso and served with chargrilled ...

I had a $200 off coupon and so the brunch, usually $388, was significantly cheaper. My partner didn’t have a coupon and so paid the full amount. The food was very good, the service was excellent, particularly from sommelier Andrés Torres and the sun was shining, which meant the outdoor patio was a good idea. Between four of us we ordered almost the entire brunch menu. The tortillas were all good, particularly the chorizo, the garlic shrimps and barbecue mussels were also very good. ...

Such a disapointing dinner we had to kick off the new year and celebrate my birthday! We had heard about Quemo from a few friends when it opened and still hadn't try. Though word of mouth spread that quality was dropping, we wanted to experience it all by ourselves being super fans of Spain and its delicacies. First of all, the price range indicated is miles away from reality... For two people drinking a bottle of wine (and we went low range), and eating reasonnably we paid mor...

Food was great, BUT definitely not the range posted on the site of $101-150 each.  My friend and I shared 2 tapas, 1 paella, and total 3 glasses of house white, and that was $1000+!!  To be real honest, the food taste good.  We had the oyster foie gras sandwich (which was really good), and then the bbq mussle (taste good but a bit too heavy on the salt), then finally a lobster paella to share.  Don't let the big metal plate fool you...us 2 girls finished it with no pr...

It is not even funny how much we Hong Kongers love Spanish food and how many new Spanish restaurants have sprung up recently. Quemo, a collaboration between Elite Concepts ...

Quemo, meaning “burning” in Spanish, opened a couple of months ago in midst of the continuing Tapas revolution that has been taking HK by storm. I came here with my friend who had highly recommended this place and I am glad to stay that it didn’t disappoint- however it did break the bank a little bit! The interior of the restaurant was dimly lighted and rustically decorated with wooden furniture, tiled floors and an open bar which contained various cold tapas. The Chorizo lolli...

I had just had my first bad dining experience in Hong Kong over the past year and unfortunately it was in this establishment.sad The sad part was the food... not the restaurant who I think is very well decorated and cozy, and not the staff who was very nice and understanding. The first thing that got me worried was the wine list. I normally drink red wine but after going through the list it was clear that I was going to have a beer because of the price and the selection by the glass was to...

Open by Elite Concept with El quim de la Boqueria in Barcelona, but nothing like La Boqueria and even worse!! We sat by the bar and watch supposely the chef in action. However, there was not much action going on. We went on sunday for lunch, but the menu was restricted to brunch menu: tortilla, soup and other starters. Luckily for us, paella was allowed to order. We ordered a zucchini tortilla. It was cold!huffy Then gazpacho, which of course was cold, but nothing spec...
