Maya cafe is one of the raw food restaurants in Hong Kong. It has recently been moved to another location in Wanchai star street (next to Kapok) It is a privte dining area therefore it is not located on the ground floor. Do look around for the poster of Maya cafe and follow the route accordingly. Zucchini carrot rollEverything was fresh and raw with some hummus sauce, it was refreshing, a perfect way to start a meal. GazpachoOne of the best gazpacho I have ever tasted (better than the one in Spain) . It was slightly spiced and rich. It was not too runny and it doesn't have a too strong flavour of herbs. I like cold soup very much especially in this hot summer. Lemon bomb, mango pudding, chia flax pudding, and chocolate mousseAt last, I have also tried their dessert combo, which was nice as well. I started off with lemon bomb, which is actually a packed lemon and coconut flakes ball. It was dense and moist at the same time. It was nicely done glued so that it won't fall apart easily. Next, the mango pudding tasted a bit like rich mango yogurt. It had a ligth mango flavour and it won't be overpowered by the previous lemon bomb. Then, ther eis chia flax pudding, it sounded like one of the healthies dessert in the world. As expected, it was a bit chewy and gluey and flavourful. I already felt a lot healthier after eating it! Last would be the chocolate mousse. It was unsweetened and they used raw cacao. It was actually very thick and again super rich. These shot glass sized dessert look small but they are packed with the maximal flavour. Can you believe I was actually stuffed up after a few bites? It was such a nice place for healthier diet, in fact, we should always eat better, I wish there are more places like this in Hong Kong, with cheaper price maybe. continue reading
