We came here after Cantonese class on a Saturday. Unfortunately, wouldn't say that I currently speak any Cantonese. There's a test next week though, little bit worried. There was a line of about 8 people when we arrived (around 1:20pm) but it moved really quick. The maitre d' or host or whatever was pretty attendant, noticed us, and asked how many people we were (4). Seated maybe after 10min wait. There are Chinese menus beneath the glass (maybe hard plastic?) cov...

The first thing a person will notice about Capital Cafe is that their walls are fully decorated with giant signed posters of various Hong Kong stars. Capital Cafe sells exactly the same meal sets as Australian Dairy Company, coming with scrambled or fried eggs, macaroni with ham, butter toast, and coffee or tea. Their scrambled eggs are excellent for its price – creamy as it is fried with Hokkaido milk, fluffy, every mouthful tasty while staying hot. Capital Cafe up their...

This restaurant is not only famous due to its traditional Hong Kong styled food but also with the fame at its aspect with the popularity given by the pop singers. Many signatures and the album cover photo of the famous pop stars in Hong Kong can be found there. The food served especially the spaghetti souped with the barbecued pork and the bread with butter really symbolize the eating style of the Hong Kong citizens, and it really reminds me the days gone of Hong Kong.

Epic Satay Beef sandwich at Capital Cafe. A lovely contrast of crisp crust and soft bun sandwiches loads of tender beefs with bold Satay sauces. A bite and you will fall in love. They use halal beef for this bun, a bit pricey and also expect a longer than usual wait for this delicious sandwich.

So, I've been walking past this place for a couple of months now and every time I walk past the line never seems to shrink. Today it was my turn to see what all the fuss about! Like many others, we waited in line for roughly 5-10 minutes outside. Once we got inside and sat down, we were greeted with ample amounts of efficient waiters hussle and bussling zooming across the room with food and drinks in hand. All three of us ordered the 'Seung charn' ($38): Cha siu spaghetti/ma...

Capital Cafe is my go to place if I want the 常餐 from a Cha Chaan Teng. Out of all the other places that also serves 常餐, I prefer Capital Cafe because: 1) the shop is newer and cleaner than others  2) the waiters are more polite and even funny 3) the food is simply consistent and yummy! More on the food, I always go for the char siu spaghetti (sometimes macaroni) with scrambled eggs and hot milk tea. The char siu is fatty and plentiful while the spaghetti/ma...

It was our (my friends and I) first breakfast in HongKong..we went there quite early that day..reach there somewhere before 8am..so the workers there look abit shocked(maybe they don't use to see tourists waking up so early for breakfast I guess)..without knowing what or how the breakfast look like,we just simply ordered whatever was written on the menu..It turned out to be very delicious..the toast was warm and flavourful..sweet and abit salty from the butter..the macaroni and ham was...

Hubby and I walked in around 1:00pm on a Saturday...restaurant was almost full at that point, we got the last two seats. The menu is similar to Australia Dairy Company, so we got the set to compare. Along with another order of the pork chop bun. The eggs were not nearly as good as Australia Dairy Company, but the pork chop bun is the best we have had in Hong Kong. Different from the Macau Restaurant's pork chop bun, and better tasting. I would definitely be back ...

After visiting my primary teacher, I walked to Wanchai for 常餐. It took me over 10 minutes for seat. If it tastes good, 10 minutes is fair. The iced milk tea is big enough for a 32 degree hot sunny day but the tea base is not strong enough. So, I was quite disappointed for the milk tea. Or, should I try the hot one instead? The marconi in soup with BBQ pork taste pretty good to me. I enjoy the marconi's smooth texture but not the BBQ pork. The other dish had ...

Super yummy food! Very local tasting food and decor. It was great showing my daughter this type of cafe to see what HK is about! Their scramble egg is so fluffy and with great flavour. Iced lemon tea was just the right sweetness and great clear tasting tea. Special mention to their quick and friendly service. Kids friendly!
