一行11人直搗太古地Ruby Tuesday,後來分成兩桌,所以以下的都是5-6人份小食拼盤中規中矩,找不到哪一款是特別難忘Rib堪稱必點菜式,骨肉分明,不怕吃到失儀態,口感香脆,醬汁很有BBQ風味,喚醒味覺California Club Quesadilla非常驚喜的一道菜,蔬菜飽滿,但咬下去不會鬆散掉牛肉千層麵芝士x牛肉的穩陣配搭,看似小份但飽肚感十足海鮮墨汁pastaPasta口感適中,微微蒜香不搶海鮮原味,神奇的是不會吃到一口墨水迷你露比中文譯音真的是~牛肉漢堡多汁厚實,不愧是經典Dessert Platter應該是dessert list裡頭性價比最高,集sponge cake, 像brownie的fondant 和雪糕於一身。海綿蛋糕吃起來像梳乎厘的口感,而底下的酒味很搶戲~Fondant和其他小蛋糕稍稍偏甜,所以Vanilla雪糕搭配草莓醬起了平衡的作用原來是要一人一份,但發現飯後根本無法一個人ko掉lollll當時吃午餐main list半價,所以人均消費才$200左右,算划算了~ continue reading

我生日,一早已訂定位!好彩冇叫太多野,叫左3樣都非常飽飽,差啲想叫隻燒春雞!先係沙律,我叫左大大大磨菇做配菜。菇好爽口,完全冇腥味,佢真係比足隻隻菇我!最衰我男朋友唔食沙律,要我一個人食曬成碟。呢個情況下個醬有啲太重味,食到有少少厭。小食拼盤都幾好,有炸蝦,炸魚,另外一個食唔出係炸咩(>﹏<)(>﹏<)(>﹏<)!啲野食真係多到食唔曬,我打包左啲炸野走,到第二日都非常好食脆口,可見原本的新鮮。我同男友都好鐘意黃色個醬,十分開胃。我就好鐘意個燒排骨,香香的蜜糖味,睇落瘦實質都幾多肉。肉質較紮實,仲有淡淡的炭香。跟拼盤的薯蓉都幾好,冇食到喉乾的情況,但稍嫌唔夠creamy,可更濕潤。最令人失望係個芝士西蘭花雞肉意粉,芝士味唔香,反而加重了負擔。雞同芝士個味真係唔係好夾,雞肉都入唔到味。而且賣相白雪雪咁,好斋,好單調,最後費是嘥,都係把包走。西蘭花太淋,仲黃黃地添…唔緊要啦,試一次,好彩全單7折姐。 continue reading

十多年前,工作上認識了這位客人,知道彼此同姓氏,再進一步了解,原來還是同鄉,頓時多了幾分親切感。彼此相識多年,大家還沒有好好坐下傾談過,趁著這個工作空隙,正好有空聚一聚。相約在太古城,這餐廳是他的「飯堂」,一星期來數次,有午市套餐,他極力推介蜜汁燒雞,說是他吃過最好吃的,遂不作他想,每人要了一份,湯與沙律之間也是選了沙律。沙律中有紫洋蔥,番茄,生菜等,有些少油醋汁,清爽開胃。不一會,蜜汁燒雞送來了,是一塊已去骨的雞髀肉,雞皮烤得很薄很脆,外皮有帶甜的醬汁,雞肉軟滑,邊位焦香,伴碟的西蘭花沒有調味,意粉是粗條的,富彈性,雞扒份量不大,吃光意粉則夠飽,餐後還有咖啡,不是即磨的,質素普通。二人閒聊了三小時,分享了彼此工作上的苦與樂,家庭的事,兒女的事,投資心得等,獲益良多,希望日後多些聯誼活動。 continue reading

W小姐在Whatsapp Group裹狂呼,一定要出來吃一頓飯。這班其實是我妹的朋友,同一家中學,同一年級,那時開始便打成一片,近來各有各忙,你走你的陽關道,我行我的獨木橋,不見都快半個年頭,又再聚在一起。妹妹申請了Ruby Tuesday的會員證,嚷着要來,我一向言從計從,樂得輕鬆不用煩心,而且露比星期二一向不太差,就只差在價錢,有了半價,何樂而不為之?結果,W小姐、H小姐、Y小姐、我妹和我便一行人來到了太古城其中一家Ruby Tuesday的分店。都是港島人的我們,聚腳在這自己的地頭,離母校不遠,在五樓俯視操場的日子,如凌散的吉光片羽,留戀的片段,漸漸越見迷糊。一個地方,要懷念,亦要人同在,人同在時,那時的感覺也需存在,否則只會留下孤寂,一種在人群裹而萌生孤單的顫慄,最為悲涼。現在一年365天360天都要過海,每個人都在離別後各有不同際遇,一起時,就用來找回當初的自己,已經足夠。在這麼多間Ruby Tuesday的分店裹,我最喜歡的便是太古城裹的這一家,理由無他,寧靜舒適。太古城的她,沒有太明亮的燈光,老氣横秋的佈置而卡位往往六人坐亦不覺過逼,平日甚至星期日都甚少滿座,一個歇腳處,想坐多久一如所想,實為談心怡情之地。Bacon Cheddar Fries 煙肉芝士薯條不理W小姐在工作上的辛酸,那長篇大論的小說,我二話不說先點上餐再說。不用說,先來個我不得不叫的薯條。Ruby Tuesday的薯條軟身厚切,沾上Sour Cream實在不錯。其實所有沾醬或芝士的薯條都是大條偏軟,這才能使整體更為入味,美式薯條十之八九,都是如此,要脆口的話,就不能加任何醬汁,魚與熊掌,不能兼得。Fried Oyster 炸蠔超級奇怪,是晚侍應推介了半價炸蠔,倒是在Ruby Tuesday第一次嘗到。因為美國人甚少把蠔炸開,味道竟如日式料理店般無異,不過嘗一下倒不傷大雅,只是好像與傳統美式餐廳背道而馳而已。Steak Quesadilla 牛扒條墨西哥烤薄餅說起Quesadilla,最重要的便是它內裹的那層溶化了的芝士,所以一定要一上碟便開吃。Ruby Tuesday把芝士溶得非常透徹,兩邊的薄餅滿滿的芝士醬,口感煙靭,配上牛肉又比起雞肉的味道更為濃厚,Quesadilla之所以為Quesadilla,全因為那兩片芝士之功勞。BBQ Chicken and Beef 鐵板牛肉和雞肉這菜式附上了薄餅,然後你便會發現,和Quesadilla的差距有多遠了。Ruby Tuesday的份量一向不少,這卻相對吝嗇,味道又甚為普通,如果可以,肚容量總有極限,不必花在這菜式上徒勞。Ribs and Wings燒肋骨幾乎是每個人到Ruby Tuesday都必點的菜。的確,她的燒肋骨水準很不俗。很多人分不清是如何定義好壞,在這裹說清一點,希望拋磚引玉,讓食饕們再指教一下小弟。Ribs在香港大概最常見的為Baby Ribs和Spare Ribs,前者為Ruby Tuesday所用,肉質嫩滑,口感豐腴,後者油脂較多,層次更為鮮明,各持所長。其實燒肋骨主要不是燒烤,而是煙熏的過程,先微烤表面,以免肉汁流失,再拿去煙熏至熟,最後抹上燒汁輕烤表皮呈上。不同廚師會用不同的木,通常是胡桃木,才會不會有太失色的味道,因為肉味太濃而蓋過了煙薰的味道。好的燒肋骨骨肉分離,Ruby Tuesday的確做得到,就煙熏味太淡,醬汁太濃,肉質很嫰,算是以這個價位相當不錯的Ribs了,一嚙一啃,滋味無窮。其實常看我食評的人會知道(不過應該沒有呵),我從不在介紹餐廳時會提過或比較另一家餐廳的,並不會說什麼比什麼好吃,那裹的那些更好,因為想尊重這一家餐廳,但這樣又好像對不起食客,糾結,而且還在糾結,也許有天會破例。如果說全城最好吃的Ribs,去中環雲咸街去找,最少,我能給想吃的人一些提示,有心者要找到相信不難,無心者一笑置之即可。心之所喜處,便是自己的安心處,我的舌頭不是你的舌頭,你會有自己所鍾情的店的。W小姐滔滔不絕,人際複雜,加班過長,我都默默聽在心中,但很快樂,結果一個多月後我們再聚,卻喧寒問暖,不着邊際的談話,心不在弦的道別,一絲惆悵。我發現,友誼除了多年同甘的經歷、或濃烈如墨的深厚,還要掌握一種額度,一種距離感,一種時間性,才能淬練出似水流年的友情。每段友情,我相信存在一種時間性,相距多久才見最沁人心扉,最能懷念,最能讓雙方或多數人舒服。W小姐覺得一個月見一次才夠,但我們卻覺得三四個月會比較適合,這種差異造就了一種距離感,滿足了你卻滿足不了我,所以友情或許不一定要深厚才會長久。身邊會否有些平淡似水卻又似水流長的友情呢?也許,因為大家都懂得拿握這份額度的輕重,不知不覺間,便走到耳順之年還有你在的羈絆,多好。有些朋友,不用去計算額度,一星期見一次或一天一次,都能無所不談,一生人遇上幾個,而足以花光你所有的運氣。友情別算,額度雖存在,但來則受之,離則放下,自有安排,強求不了,何必執著。W小姐和Y小姐兩個在這班裹會不斷呼喊要見,下次下次,還是會去吧,我是這樣的人。凡事別太執着,擁有就感恩,無緣便放手。 continue reading

I have been a Ruby Tuesday member for over three years now and have never been disappointed with her food. Her food is always heartily delicious, portion sumptuous, and having one close by our home and work place; it's just perfect.Anyway, on this Saturday night, we order her March Chef's Recommendation Grilled Beef Nuggets and Monthly Special Half-Rack Tender Forked Ribs with a Coke. We also have Smoked Salmon Salad, Clam Linguine, Seafood Burger, a glass of Riesling, and Bananaberry Cream Freeze Smoothie.Since Ruby Tuesday never advertise her Monthly Special with a picture, we are delighted to find out that the Grilled Beef Nuggets with mushroom sauce is actually rissoles or fried minced meat. It is savory and my dad encores it afterward.The Smoked Salmon Salad with dill dressing seems to be our standard dish now whenever we dine here with dad. Dad loves the salmon and it usually comes with 4 big slices but we have 5 this time. Salad is fresh with cherry tomatoes, red onions, lettuce, crunchy croutons and capers.I crave for some Clam Linguine tossed in marinara pesto sauce with garlic bread this time. I just love tomato sauce and there is plenty of baby clam meat.The Seafood Burger with French fries includes 3 breaded oysters, Hoki filet, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and buttery crispy buns that is simply gratifying. The warm buns never disappoint and I really like the oysters here. I wish they could keep the breaded oysters as a regular Appetizer option.Next we have the Monthly Special Half-Rack Ribs with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables which is her signature dish; always tender and juicy. We change the side dish to baked potato instead as her mashed potato usually tastes starchy and lumpy while the baked potato with butter and sour cream is always good.With four big main courses, 2 appetizers, and 2 drinks, we have no room for dessert. The tab turns out to be under $700 including the 10% service charge based on original price for a family of 4. Awesome. continue reading
