Tai Hang is not my usual place for hanging out and this Japanese ramen shop had been chosen among all the great choices for dining.  It was because others either had a long queue or that the prices was not reasonable.  The setting was very Japanese with the picture of Osaka icon: the running man.  Besides, I could hang my coat on the wall and my bag under the dining table which was convenient for diners.  I ordered the prawn ramen and the soup was very impressive.  It was so ...

This is a hole in the wall kind of Japanese noodles place that has seats for not more than 15 patrons. You hang your coat (if you have one) on one of a few pegs behind you on the wall, and your bag (if any) on another peg right by your knee under the counter top. Three chefs busy themselves right in front of you and two other colleagues take care of the customers. You fill in a form as to which variety of noodles you want (there are designated numbers) and you choose whether you ...

My parents and I happened to be around Causeway Bay one day looking for lunch. We were out of ideas so we decided to head over to Tai Hang where many small but well-received restaurants are located. I did a quick search on Openrice and Ramen Kureha was among the top results. My mom didn’t feel like eating ramen though so they wandered off, leaving me alone. =~= That was fine though since I got a table right away. Loners ftw!The restaurant is very small and everyone ate o...

As a ramen lover, I'm always on the lookout for new ramen places to try. As I saw that the reviews for this shop was pretty good, I decided to come and try for myself. Ramen Kureha is located in Tai Hang, one of my favorite areas to visit for food as it is not as crowded as CWB. The restaurant is located on the main street so it was easy to spot with its traditional Japanese decor and colorful signs. Once inside, there were even more colorful decorations like old Japanese to...

Reason for visiting: Another cold night perfect for ramen! mad I asked my cousin to try Ramen Kureha with me before searching for new clothes in Causeway Bay for the new year. mad Environment & Hygiene: Without going in, you might think that it is just another ramen place, but actually, it is quite uniquely decorated inside with a lot of antique toys, posters and signs etc. tongue The toys gave it a comfortable warm feeling. However, I noticed that the toys ha...

I have to admit, in Hong Kong when thinking of what to eat ramen rarely comes across as a feasible option for me.Why? Maybe because I have been spoiled by really good ramen during my life in Sydney and even though there have been so many ramen joints that have been raved about as being spectacular in Hong Kong, after trying a couple of them, I can say that they are just a little lacking compared to the ones I have had overseas. So when J asked me to join her and her brother for rame...

Have been here quite a number of times, trying out the range of ramens from Original pork to tonkotsu, Chicken soup, White Truffle, Prawn, Crab and Kumamoto, etc. At the beginning when this shop 1st opened, I thought the soup was too viscous こってり but missing the depth and layering. The noodles were also too soft.. Anyway the Ramen hardness part did improved for a while.. But this time's Kumamoto Black Garlic oil Tonkotsu ramen, had noodles which came o...

I came here for lunch alone, the waiter and manager were very helpful to explain. I had the spicy fireball ramen and when it came, I thought the soup will be red but it's a nice surprise that the spicy fireball when I broke and stirred was spiced up and coloured the soup red. The noodle was perfect, broth thick and tasty, the pork slices was delicious. I really enjoy the decor is so Japanese! I will come back again when there was no long queue on the door!

This is my favorite place for Japanese noodles. The decor feels like Japan. The service very very quick - the noodle arrived within a few minutes if ordering despite the place was packed. The taste of the soup is thick & strong. The noodles cooked just right. I also enjoy adding the side marinates veggies that came on the table. We were in & out within 20 mins!!

Came here for the white truffle ramen which I had read about on my friend's blog. No wait time, so that was good! Ordered a chicken and tomato soup parmesan ramen and the white truffle tonkotsu ramen. I have to say, it was really just average. the chicken and tomato soup was refreshing, but I didn't like the tonkotsu soup base flavour. Their soup was thick enough, but there was a funny flavour to it which I can't put my finger on. There was a teaspoon of truffle, which was ...
