This is one of them.

Raw Beef Pho ($41). I chose this. The beef was chewy and tough. Odd as it was also very fatty. The rice noodles were mushy and over cooked. The soup was just plain MSG. No beef flavor at all. Just salty MSG.

Adding an extra $6, boyfriend upgraded to a three color coconut drink. It was really three colored when it arrived and tasted of entirely coconut milk. It was ok. Sadly, the best thing in the entire meal.

There is no 10% service charge. But food was not good. It was either salty or bland. Prices are cheap but I won't be back.

今晚九點多才收工,不想太夜還吃飯。這選擇越南餐廳。這時人不多,只有三數張枱。叫了生牛肉金邊粉生牛肉有五六塊,都大塊,又夠淋。都幾抵而且配料亦很足,湯底夠入味,辣同青檸分開上(其他地方較小吧?)加了幾粒辣椒。不算辣。金邊粉就沒太特別,不過都入味。芽菜亦很多。這裡人不多,都幾舒服。

I love pho, but the Hong Kong version is always a little disappointing. Other than the soggy noodles, it seems to be something different every time. Sheung Wan is probably one of the worst places to go for pho too: it's like the epicenter of Chinese-ified pho. But I  do it anyway, cuz sometimes I got that pho craving, and even so-so pho can scratch it.Broth: the broth at SCY is wholly lacking in complexity. Broth: the broth at SCY is wholly lacking in complexity. It's got three notes, in order of strength: sweet, salty, beef. Star anise? No. Cloves? No. Cinnamon? No. They don't even go with the 5-spice powder here. Definitely no roasted ginger or daikon radish. It wasn't even as greasy as I like it, and usually my complaint is the opposite. Poor, D+

Noodles: I shouldn't really have to review the noodles. If you've been to any pho place in Sheung Wan (exception: Pho 26, where you've got a choice), you know they serve the thin flat rice noodles that are mushy when they arrive and mush when you're done. These were slightly less mushy than some other versions I've had. I'm going to go with "OK," as that's what I've come to expect: C+

Extras: spring onions, thai basil, and some bean sprouts in the soup. On the side: a slice of lime and a fair amount of red chili slices (that are actually spicy). The sriracha sauce at the table was a Vietnamese brand that is much sweeter, less spicy, and less garlicky than America's favorite brand, Huy Fong. A good stock of flavor enhancers-- which the broth desperately needs. B+

We also got some rice paper rolls, which came after the pho. They didn't have any plum sauce or peanut sauce. I'm more of a sriracha-on-my-rolls type of guy, but the sriracha on the table was pretty sweet, as I said. These were still good though. B-

Hey, it's not the best pho in the world, and the servers don't know any English (we tried to order a Coke Zero, because the menu says "soft drink"... no luck). But you can definitely do worse. C

I ordered their beef noodle soup lunch set with iced-lemon tea to take away.  When I got back to my office, I noticed through the lid of my drink that there was somthing dark and fuzzy inside the cup. I went back to the restaurant to show them and received horrible attitude from the cashier.  She was very defensive, and was not apologetic at all.  When I asked to speak to the manager, he would not even come out to see me.  The cashier eventually refunded the $43 that I paid for the meal- but it certainly does not compensate for the traumatizing experience.

I have notified the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department who has promptly begun an initial investigation. Avoid this restaurant!

今日在公司聽了一個很沈重的消息, 便決定和同事一起食中午散散心。由於不想食飯類, 所以提議去這間越南粉麵食湯河..這間店, 在我剛剛正式上班時食過一次..這次相隔足足兩年多再來! 不過套餐的款式不多, 想吃的豬頸肉也沒有...所以最終選了雞絲湯河+凍檸茶。雞絲湯河, 雞絲粉量不多, 河粉挺滑, 湯底也不錯, 只是雞絲有不少還帶著黃黃的雞皮..而且有些是有根和骨尚未去掉, 吃得不太盡興。看來這次光顧後, 都要再隔一段長時間才會去呢。

這家店共去過二次,第一次中午11:30分左右,當時店鋪客人只有八~九位,但是叫了一碟炒金邊粉足足等了25分鐘。今日叫餐茶時上來2杯(2位),埋單時要另收1杯餐茶,根本事先沒解譯要另收費.相反態度极差.這樣的餐廳以後都不會幫稱!
