The burger was nice and juicy although it seemed a bit smaller than I remembered. Nonetheless it was still tasty and we got it with bacon and Gouda.

The brisket sandwich was what I was actually craving as I remember it being extremely tender and ready. This time it was a bit dry though but still tasty. Slightly disappointing but not bad.

And next we got the pulled pork sandwich. This was actually new for me and it was very juicy and I enjoyed it. Slightly smoky and the bbq sauce gave it a bit more juice and taste.

For the sides the fries and sweet potato fries were actually fantastic. The beans however were underwhelming. Coleslaw was very mediocre.

Lastly they have several beers on tap and they weren't joking when their sign on the outside says coldest beer. I got an ice cold Kirin in a frosted mug and it was definitely fresh and had a good pour.

I'll certainly be back again and too bad I don't live in the area, otherwise it makes for a solid lunch/dinner/date spot!

Beer is always ice cold here and the nachos are always good so we got off to a good start. I ordered the brisket roll which was juicy and tasty. My son had the kids burger, the bun was grease sodden and on closer examination fell apart, it was awful.

Another point the wait staff were pretty uninterested, the restaurant was pretty empty and the young staff was joking around, with a fair bit of swearing, personally not bothered but behaviour more like a pub than restaurant, none of them asked us how our food was when considering how much we left was odd.

It's was thanksgiving yesterday and I was going to the restaurant with my love. I booked the table at 8:15 because the lady said supposed to be 8:00 but they needed 15 minute to clean up the table. It's was thanksgiving yesterday and I was going to the restaurant with my love. I booked the table at 8:15 because the lady said supposed to be 8:00 but they needed 15 minute to clean up the table. And she told me they only serve thanksgiving menu with turkey as main course. That's what we want to celebrate Thanksgiving Day!! and turkey is the food we were looking for on the Day!!  


While we arrived the restaurant at 8pm, we were told that no more turkey and we only can have chicken, rip or steak ... Where's the Turkey?! Their rip is good, but what's the point to have no Turkey on Thanksgiving Day?? If so, why don't just serve Peking Duck instead?? Too disappointed ... 


When we asked the lady how long we had to wait, she told us people arrived at 6pm had paid and would leave in 5-10 mins. She asked us waiting outside the restaurant for a while... At the end, we were still waiting outside for around half hour ... No turkey ... No table ... Standing outside under 13C at Sai Kung was not a funny thing to do.

Poor arrangement on table. Turkey menu but no Turkey.. What a Thanksgiving day!

I'm a big fan of American food, so I've been looking for a nice restaurant in HK where I could find food that comes somewhat close to what is available in the US.  The usual chains you think of when someone mentions American food are downright bad compared to Anthony's Ranch.  The service here is friendly, the atmosphere is good, and the food is wonderful.  The ribs are very meaty and moist, not dry and tough like you usually find in Hong Kong.  The sauce is served separately so you can decide how much of it you want (all of it!), not baked into a dry crust.  The burger buns are, I believe (and I may be wrong) potato rolls, a little bit sweet, very soft and fluffy, just perfect.  The prices are on the high side for this type of food, but for Hong Kong, I suppose it is average.  Count $300+ per person if you go for 2 dishes each.  You do get free peanuts though.  Will definitely be coming back for those ribs.

Anthony's Ranch has long been a favorite which is why I chose it for my birthday dinner last evening. It soon become apparent this is not the Ranch I fondly remember.   They were out of my favorite beer (Kronenbourg) and my mug was not frosted, as always in the past. Anthony's Ranch has long been a favorite which is why I chose it for my birthday dinner last evening. It soon become apparent this is not the Ranch I fondly remember.   They were out of my favorite beer (Kronenbourg) and my mug was not frosted, as always in the past. The item I wanted (on the menu) is no longer on the menu!?! What's up with that?  My steak was quite tough and my wife's salmon was way over-cooked.  Neither one of us could finish our meals.  On the bright side, our waitress did comp. my beer.   I intended to send my comments directly to them, via their website.  When I attempted to do so via the "Contact" page I was told that this page was "Optimized for Adobe Business Catalyst", or something like that.  I don't even know what that means, much less care.   It was just one more indication that the Ranch has fallen out of touch with its customers.  I will likely give it one more chance, but I fear the Ranch is on that slippery slope to mediocrity.    I haven't even seen Anthony the last several times I've been to the Ranch and his energy and spirit are clearly missing.  Anthony, if you are still out there- guard your stars!

I grew up in Texas. I don't expect very much from Texas-themed restaurants and that's good, because they don't deliver much. Still, I'm not a food snob, and if I can get something that approximates good Texas cooking, I won't begrudge it, even if it is tacky as all get-out. Anthony's Ranch is OK, but by Hong Kong standards, it's pretty good. I ordered the fajitas. I grew up in Texas. I don't expect very much from Texas-themed restaurants and that's good, because they don't deliver much. Still, I'm not a food snob, and if I can get something that approximates good Texas cooking, I won't begrudge it, even if it is tacky as all get-out. Anthony's Ranch is OK, but by Hong Kong standards, it's pretty good. I ordered the fajitas. Some thoughts:

Tortillas: At a number of Tex-Mex places I've been to in HK, the tortillas are flat and lifeless. These didn't suffer from the same malady, so that's a huge plus, but they were oddly toasted and a little crispy. I don't know why. B-

Sides: Even in Texas, they will rarely give you cheese AND guacamole with your fajitas-- just one or the other, or you can pay for both. Here you get both, plus you get two kinds of cheese. No idea what that's about, but awesome. The pico was OK, and I could swear that the "salsa" was just canned tomato sauce. B+

Fajita veggies: Nothing spectacular, but definitely serviceable. Hard to mess up onions and peppers. B+

Fajita meat: The two other times I've had fajitas in HK were at Tequila (awful) and Caramba! (bad). The steak at Anthony's was much better. Still not right-- you want a good sear on the outside, a little bit of pink left on the inside, and intense fajita marinade flavor. This was more like mildly flavored, reasonably tender steak, which in itself blows chewy (Caramba!) or Asian-flavored (Tequila) stuff out of the water. B

In addition, I am in a position to review:

1/2 rack ribs: My wife got these. I started to eat one but I dropped it on the floor. Anyway, she says they were pretty good and that she couldn't really think of what else she'd want out of ribs. At dinner, I recall her saying they were "meaty." She gives them A-

Jalapeno poppers: Just like the ones from the states, probably because they're the same frozen kind that you get there. Anyway, it's a recipe that's rarely improved upon. They serve them with ranch dressing, which is a very nice touch if you ask me. A+

Summing up, I would come back here. That's saying a lot, considering that there's no small number of "Texas" places (in particular, Tex-Mex) in HK that I won't be coming back to. The only bad part of the visit was that my friend, who was a vegetarian, ordered the veggie burger, and they were out. He wound up getting Eggplant Napoleon, which I think he thought was good?

Overall: B+
Other Info. : They have pitchers, but they call them "jugs."

大家可能末必會知道,這裡的豬肋骨是非常的出色的。雖然不是Baby Rib,但因為炆得夠時間,肉質鬆化人口即溶, 而且豬肉味濃。而且火力控制得宜,肉非常的濕潤,加上BBQ醬甜酸適中,非常開胃。還有薯條也炸得香脆可口,不油不膩,是全城最好的豬肋骨之一。
