I recently dined at JEP by Involtini, a restaurant located in Tuen Mun. My companion and I opted for the set lunch, and we were both thoroughly impressed with our dining experience.
The set lunch included a delightful array of dishes, starting with the appetizer. We chose the ham platter, which was a perfect way to kick off the meal. The variety of ham offered a delightful combination of flavors.
For the main course, we ordered two different dishes. The first was the homemad...

We were planning to go to another cafeteria nearby, sadly closed; randomly went into this cafeteria for a sit and nibble.
It was a bit awkward walking in. Reception staff was focusing on a customer only purchasing their coffee beans while leaving us waiting without arrangements. Not until a waiter interrupted to arrange seats and greeting us, the receptionist still didn't even look or aware of us.
Anyhow, it was another QR code ordering system cafeteria. Menu showed variety...

This Japanese restaurant is located in The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, just adjacent to Sushi Shikon. Led by Chef Masaru Furukawa, it has been awarded Michelin one-star status in 2023. The word ‘kappo’ means ‘cut and cook’, highlighting this style of Japanese cuisine with the chef cooking in front of customers and interact.Dinner service has two periods, one starting at 6pm and the other 8:30pm. We had reserved the earlier slot and were seated at the end of the ...

This restaurant is located on 5/F of Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, having recently been awarded Michelin 1-star status. Noi means ‘us’ in Italian and is the philosophy for diners to get close and personal with Chef Paulo to learn his culinary heritage and passion for high quality ingredients. After arriving we were seated at the casual breakout lounge featuring a wine bar with nice decors, and what caught my attention most was the interesting lightings on the ceiling, show...

Last time I visited this famous sushi restaurant was already two and a half years ago. That occasion I had a nice experience but it was only lunch as it was quite impossible to book for dinner. A few months ago, I tried my luck and cannot believe I was able to secure a dinner reservation! Taking the early seating at 6pm, it was with great anticipation I arrived at 45/F of Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. We were served in a different room from the last visit, but the décor and ar...

This Shanghai restaurant has been opened quite awhile, it always at the back of my mind to try yet forgotten. Passing by in the late afternoon, I did not feel hungry even skipping lunch. Persuaded by my friend that we have been wanting to give this small restaurant a try, we went in.
Looking at their lunch/ afternoon tea sets, it was surprisingly appetising, worth and in varieties. I was impressed. Despite I claimed having an empty stomach, we ordered three sets, pork chop dan dan noo...

Situated on the street of an outdoor wet market, Woo Cheong serves traditional Chiu Chow food for many years. I always wonder how they built their reputation by locating in such a dirty location and they even have another restaurant right across the street. We came here to celebrate Father’s Day and have pre-ordered their traditional stuffed crab in two ways. However, I don’t think it’s as good as others commented. We were seated on the first floor, feeling was not very nic...

It was 2018 when I last visited, and this restaurant continues to win the prestigious Michelin award since its opening. Located on Shanghai Tang Mansion in Duddell Street, it has two floors, with the main dining area on the 3/F, where we are seated. The restaurant has a nice cozy ambience, with comfortable sofa seats on the window side, smart use of brass frames on the window to allow the natural light to come in while creating a contemporary vibe. The western setting creates an inte...

This is the restaurant that started my omakase journey, and I could still remember the visit at its Sheung Wan location (currently occupied by Zuicho) many years ago, first coming to experience the amazing cuisine from Chef Yoshiharu Kakinuma. After moving to The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, and the continued recognition of Michelin 3-star, it remains one of the top sushi restaurants in town. With my last visit already four years ago, I have some trepidation when I retur...

It was my friend’s birthday and thought we could do with a special treat dinner at this one Michelin star ⭐️ restaurant.
The HK Michelin guide 2022 said this restaurant had “the look of a grand Parisian salon” and the French cooking there shows “a certain modernity”.
Since it was near Christmas time, from the moment we stepped into Shangri-la hotel and all the way leading up to the restaurant, the short journey was festooned with Christmas decorations. The f...

This restaurant has opened for a long time but I waited till they settled down and had a good reputation before visiting. The inside is very big and spacious with bar tables and sofa seats. They also have a very large outdoor seating area where you can enjoy your meal and watch the ocean.
We came on a Sunday for lunch and the restaurant was quite vacant although the outside area was packed.

This sushi restaurant is on Hollywood Road, near Man Mo Temple, where the former Bibo is located. It brought back some memories as Bibo had one of the most creative and art-centric décors in all the restaurants I visited in HK. But today I come here to experience something much more traditional. The entrance has a small plaque showing the restaurant’s name and if not paying attention one can easily walk by without noticing. Going in the waitress and chefs greeted us, a...

I grew up in Tin Hau and had witnessed the transformation of the area, in particular how the neighbourhood turned into a foodie heaven. Apart from street level, there are now also commercial buildings featuring multiple floors of restaurants. In fact, this renown teppanyaki restaurant is located in one of them, the Golden Wheel Plaza.
I still remember it was last December when I made the reservation. But because of changes in social distancing requirements, this ended ...
