Went to Toh Lee for dim sum earlier this week. Most of the tables in the restaurant have a nice view of the Victoria Habour. It was a sunny day, so we had a nice view across the HK Island side.Spare ribs and chicken feet was ok, nothing special. I only had the spare ribs as I am not a fan of chicken feet.We also had minced pork dumplings. The minced pork filling was tender and juicy, but dumpling was very soft, not crispy at all, def not what I have in mind.Deep fried turnip pastry with crabmeat and black truffle. The pastry was very nice and crispy, while the turnip was still very sweet . The crabmeat and black truffle was very tasty and come together very well.Baked BBQ pork buns came with the crispy Mexican bun top. The bun was soft and hot while the BBQ pork filling was tender and juicy, the sauce was tasty and not too rich.The deep fried wonton was very crispy and not overdone. However, the shrimp inside seems abit overcooked and the dipping sauce was not tasty enough for me.We ordered baked red bean pastry for dessert. The pastry was nice with buttery taste, and the red bean paste was not too sweet. A nice way to end this tasty and filling biz lunch. continue reading

星期五的晚上同朋友係尖東行完街之後,正當苦惱食咩之際,朋友提議去食中菜,從朋友得知日航酒店的中菜廳『桃李』重新裝修,於是我地就慕名而去。由於我地大約6點半鐘到的關係,餐廳入面仲未坐滿客人,所以店員安排左我地坐窗口位未食飯已經有個靚景,簡直唔錯。當我地講左飲咩茶之後,店員更加會奉上了魚仔花生作餐前小食,整體上感覺唔錯!至於食物方面,經店員介紹得知e個月份做緊懷舊菜,所以我地點左兩樣懷舊菜:『燒金錢雞伴油泡大蝦球』、『海蜇芝麻骨香手撕雞』。另外店員亦都推薦店內的燒味,所以我地亦到點左一道『蜜汁黑豚肉叉燒』。不消一會兒,燒味就到了,黑豚肉叉燒色澤鮮明,叉燒瘦中帶肥,賣相已經滿分。一碟靚叉燒點少得一碗白飯呢,一口叉燒一口白飯,簡直無語倫比。正當我和朋友沈醉於叉燒之際,我地點的懷舊菜都續一送到。首先講一講第一道懷舊菜:『燒金錢雞伴油泡大蝦球』。我和朋友之所以會點e個懷舊菜原因就係金錢雞。據我地所知金錢雞e道菜係出面已經好少地方可以食到,製作過程煩複,師父的手功已經值得一讚。而味道方面,金錢雞咬落軟淋,油份係口入面爆發。反而蝦球略為失色,我和友人估計蝦球應該選用冰鮮,鮮味略為欠缺。而第二道菜:『海蜇芝麻骨香手撕雞』,手撕雞炒得軟滑,配以西芹、香菇、菜遠等材料,令人食指大動!。加埋涼伴海蜇,簡直雙輔雙承。而甜品方面,我同朋友都係芒果狂人所以點左『凍香芒布甸』同『香芒軟枕』。『凍香芒布甸』大大個份量十足,而且入面仲有粒粒芒果肉、配以鮮果同埋忌廉奶,簡真滿足身為芒果狂人的我同朋友!!! 跟住到『香芒軟枕』,甜品師父以醹米皮做外皮包住用奶黃漿同芒果肉做涵、配以椰絲點綴醹米皮的外皮。一個值得稱讚的地方就係醹米皮造得軟硬適中,唔會過硬難以入口。但有少少失望的地高就係入面的芒果有d酸,影響左軟枕的味道。總結,成餐飯感覺唔錯,可以再次光顧。而本人推薦『蜜汁黑豚肉叉燒』同埋『凍香芒布甸』可以一試。黎開尖東而又喜歡食中菜的朋友都可以黎『桃李』一試!! continue reading

由於星期日既關系,我一早以經book左枱,我又想我同女友坐得開心啲叫佢比窗口枱我,佢地都好樂意!其實中菜廳位子不多,但係都有5張窗口枱,至於個海景都幾ok,不過有條行車橋係到令到個海景失色不少!我朋友算係常客,啲菜色全部都係佢介紹。可能我地實在太肚餓了,一陣間啲餸菜就到 ,懷舊金錢雞,軟腍蜜味甜得黎又唔太漏,又有少許嚼口,的確不錯。我朋友叫我要book枱時訂左先!好似會好快無灑😏我女友一直鐘情煎炸野,宜個香草桂花煙燻銀鱈魚就啱啱好,啲魚有小小趣口入口就熔真係唔錯,但芡汁似乎有點重手,同啲魚好似唔多配合,可能煮汁同野食個大廚唔同,無疑水準有點出入。店方極力推薦的 正完鹽焗雞半隻,論肉質真的細嫩幼滑,但雞味輕柔,咸道適中,真係幾好味!最後仲有宜個蒜片牛柳粒的確有勁重的蒜香,但反而將牛肉的味道蓋過,牛肉粒在時間的拿捏又真的準繩,軟綿細膩的肉質,含有肉汁及蒜香,最適合來一碗白飯。跟住仲有宜個店員介紹兩款甜點奶皇煎堆仔,兩隻指頭大少,表面芝麻粒黏得平均,圓鼓鼓的十分趣緻,熱辣辣的明顯是即叫即炸,奶黃餡料香甜帶流心,令人有意想不到的效果。香芒軟枕,基本上同雪米糍無咩分別,但係佢啲芒果太酸影响左個味道!總括野食同服務都幾好時不時都有waiter幫我地加茶,野食就大部份都唔錯!行開尖沙咀又有時間可以值得試一試👍 continue reading
