There has been a healthy juice trend lately. You have all sorts of health gurus telling you ... drink juice. But not just any juice.  These juices are mixes of various other ingredients to give you that various health benefits like detox, beautiful skin, immunity, etc., etc. The list goes on and on. Add the benefits of cold press and organic and you have one bottle of super fluid. There have been a crop of new juice stores that have opened up on in Hong Kong. But the most recent one? Juicery. Brought to you by the ones who tried to add to your calorie count. Honeymoon Dessert. Yup. Iconic Hong Kong dessert chain store, Honeymoon Dessert is getting in on the juice crazy as well. They have opened up a take away counter at CitySuper Times Square food court. I noticed it after work and decided to give it a try. I'm always up for a new healthy juice counter. The menu is in English and Chinese. Along with fresh blended juice, they also serve smoothies and fruit teas. Juices come in two sizes: small and large.Apple Kisses ($32 for a small). I ordered a small apple kisses. The description said Granny Smith apple, Fuji apple, carrot and lime. From the photo, it looked more orange in color. What I got was something that was a lot paler in shade. I would say, it looked more yellow. Taking a sip, I got a lot of apple juice and not much carrot. That's probably why it was yellow in color and not orange? I also tasted ... ginger. Ginger? This was not stated on the list of ingredients. Isn't it normal for all ingredients to be listed? It tasted ok, but the ginger threw me off and ... where was my carrot?I didn't see anywhere that listed the fruit as organic or any ingredients as organic, so I assume none were. Unlike many other juice stores, they didn't stated what the health benefits of each ingredient was. Also, my drink had an added extra that wasn't listed. The staff working there didn't really seem to care to explain what they were. I'm assuming this is due to the person working there is from CitySuper itself and thus just going through the motions? For a healthy juice place,  I don't think I'd return here as there are far better options in Causeway Bay. It was ok but not really worth my while. continue reading
