We were greeted immediately and ushered to comfortable and spacious booth seating. The shrimp dumplings (ha gao) and jiu yin ha (salt pepper shrimp) were tasty, but xiao long bao a disappointment although generous portion of meat inside. English menu available upon request. continue reading

小妹前陣子開刀做小手術,出院後依老人家說要戒口,一定可以吃的只有豬肉、菜和有鱗魚,加上行動不便,真的有點悶!有時朋友來看我,總要偷雞出外走走,吃吃飯,散散步,因此發現這街坊酒樓原來蒸魚最強!這裡易手後小妹和老公來過品茗,點心出品普通,服務也屬一般,一派街坊酒樓格局,所以我們都寧願走遠一點找吃,只是行動不便兼要戒口的我沒什麼選擇,反而意外地吃到好東西。休養期間貪其就腳來此用膳,和朋友要一條蒸石斑,發現火喉控制非常好,$198價錢可以,所以中秋節的團圓飯也在此搞定。與長老們吃飯,吃套餐最實際,大家各取所需,對品質也不會有太大期望,上菜了,小妹當然主攻清蒸海斑仔,想不到套餐的蒸魚水準依然甚高,火喉控制比上次更佳,整條魚鮮而不腥,肉質保持嫩滑,吃到最後方發現廚師竟能做到「一點紅」!這蒸魚的效果我還是頭一次品嚐到,技術果然高超!這裡人流不算旺,也許因此廚師能專心掌握火喉,實在不能看輕街坊小店的威力,隨時有意想不到的驚喜呢! continue reading

中午太座公司有活動,小伙子又約了人,只剩下父女倆,我建議去飲茶,小妮子舉手贊成。這酒樓的前身是「怡苑」,食物質素非常一般,在同區算是班尾,現在不知是易手還是改名,新名叫「王朝盛宴」,一個好似好勁的名字。現今酒樓為爭取婚宴,紛紛將場地裝修得美侖美奐,希望多接婚宴,才可有利可圖,因此,國宴,皇宴,盛宴之名,此起彼落。與上手比較,裝修見落本,有水晶燈,大壁畫,靚檯布,頗有「王朝」氣勢,唯在星期日的中午,約有一半「吉位」,未見有「盛宴」。我和小妮子找到個卡座,相當舒適闊落,點餐的瑣事交由小妮子負責。燒賣,是小妮子喜愛之物,賣相不錯,粒粒飽滿,肥肉不算多,約有二成,口感亦佳,肉汁豐富,還有些冬菇味,好食。菜苗餃,晶瑩的外皮,看到透出的翠綠,還有些蝦肉,餃皮不糊口,餡料濕潤,不知菜苗是哪種菜,嫩綠可口。腐皮卷,因我愛吃腐皮、腐竹,可能受我影響,又是小妮子喜愛之物,用湯浸著,餡料有唐芹,木耳,菇絲和肉碎,腐皮吸收了肉和湯的味道,加上唐芹的芳香,很合我們的胃口。叉燒腸粉,腸粉是飲茶不可缺少之點心,屢吃不厭,粉皮頗滑,叉燒質素亦可。後來看看餐牌,猜測到多「吉位」原因,可能是售價問題,小點$12.5,中點$15.5,大點$18.5,特點$21,頂點$24,而超點$38。若早茶或下午茶,大中小點售價約便宜三份一,似乎較合化算。$101 / 2位 continue reading
