Thanks to IVY_CWK or I would never have known about this restaurant and I rarely dine in this area because it is too much effort to go there.When she first told me I had a quick look at the reviews thinking it was another Chinese style Western place for food but then they were closing down after decades of business so I decided to give it a try.It was interesting because it was Russian Cuisine. I wondered how the Russian cuisine ended up in Hong Kong because they were not ruled under the Russian Empire.There is always non authentic Russian borscht soup served in Chinese Restaurants because they use tomato to replace beetroots.Anyway, when we arrived, there was a crew filming the restaurant.Inside the restaurant, the decor was quite old and historic by Hong Kong standards, but commonly found in Europe.The table mats on the table reminded me of the ones used in UK with a cork base.The menus were mostly handwritten and difficult to comprehend.It was like Chinese joined up writing.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Russian Borscht soup:Although it is not authentic, the taste was better than the Borscht soups served in other Chinese restaurants.There was lots of tomato in it.As well as this, I also tried the Portuguese fish soup which was much nicer because it had lemon in it.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Prawn and potato salad:.The potato salad was surprisingly nice, it tasted natural unlike the other syrupy sweet salad cream HK style salads crammed with sweet tinned fruit.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Seafood platter:The salmon was a bit dry and had bones.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Baked crab with cheese:This was extremely delicious and contained real crabmeat and not surimi.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Cameraman caught on camera while I happened to be filmed by the Cameraman!★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ continue reading

打從去年就知道莎厘娜快將結業, 深感無奈香港的老店, 一間又一間的經營不住 ; 之前的利苑, 今天的莎厘娜...無不感慨 , 港人的集體回憶又少了一樣~ 有時我會有點灰心的想, 是不是要一次重大的經濟下滑, 百業衰退, 大家就會好像以往的團結起來, 商人地主會稍為同舟共濟, 賺錢會比較有良心一點呢 ?- -- - -- - - - 感慨完了, 回到主題~ 打從二月旬, 就找了一個週末, 乘搭昔日在港大時常搭的 23 號巴士, 來到莎厘娜向她作最後的道別這不是我和貓先生第一次光顧, 昔日大家還是學生時, 閒錢不多, 當時鄰店也有莎厘娜, 是做學生飯盒那些, 價錢相當大眾, 份量足夠一個小伙子有餘, 我們二人有時買了飯, 在學校的公園滋滋的吃, 非常有詩意, 亦有味道 ~後來是出來工作了餘年後, 才首次推開這扇神秘的大門, 一探究竟 ~ 對於俄國菜, 就只有羅宋湯吧!這一喝, 真是驚為天人, 在冷冷的冬天, 喝一口满是配菜, 而且甜道濃郁的熱湯, 相當幸福 ~ 她是我最愛的羅宋湯呢 , 沒有一家比她更為好喝! 聽說每煲湯都煮了三十多小時, 牛肉的精華都在於此!另外, 前菜則是俄羅斯沙律, 有些凍肉, 火腿, 蛋, 蕃茄等 ~ 除了凍肉味道一般有點身硬外, 其他可是非常可口而且新鮮的呢 ! 主菜貓先生要了俄國牛柳絲飯, 是自己淋汁上去那種 , 汁較得很稠很濃, 餸很多, 但願我懂如何煮這味菜, 那個汁真是好吃的沒話說, 我連吃了幾口才收手呢!我的主菜則是燒春雞餐 , 雞肉很可口, 香味有點像 kfc, 吃一口, 肉不un , 烹調時間剛剛好的!薯條可能我放了一會才吃, 有點淋及涼了, 可惜可惜最後, 我們喝了檸茶及咖啡作為終結, 亦在餐廳內拍了很多照片, 結賬站在門外一會, 才依依不捨的離去 ~希望在不久的將來, 當市道又再合適時, 會在報紙上看到王先生的莎厘娜, 又再可以卷土重來! continue reading

早前 1 月份,看到頭條日報中葉樹堃的專欄,得知位於半山般咸道的 <莎厘娜餐廳 Czarina Restaurant> 將於今日2月28日結業! 加上他推介回味的羅宋湯!接著,同事為她老公慶祝農曆生日,說到食物抵食夾大件!... 趁結業在即,令我蠢蠢欲動想約朋友們一起慕名而來!當時1月廿幾號,我先致電 book 位,可惜餐廳方面 1 月晚飯時段已 full booking! 老闆/ 侍應建議我 2 月份好幾個日期,跟朋友們商議後,我們擇了2 月8日 (年廿八) 幫襯! 大家都十分期待!由於,大家不識路,相約在上環搭廿幾$ 的士到來。恰巧!我們尚未走入門口,碰見有位水果報記者在影相,直至進食期間,他也繼續拍攝及錄影! 我們還要求他幫手影合照! 問他看時見報及哪間報館?原來翌日登報及網上新聞!那麼神速!我認得鄰桌的中年夫婦更被訪問!我們那桌也有兩位朋友上了鏡!好彩!完全影不到我!哈哈!說回正題,有「港大飯堂」之稱的 <莎厘娜餐廳> 屹立半山已有48 年!差不多跨越半世紀! 得知其結業消息,也感到惋惜! 有待日後找到合適舖位,好讓食客再嚐滋味!門面裝修簡約,店內卻是懷舊的西餐廳裝潢;有雲石枱面,卡位有厚厚的棗紅色梳化,桌子舖上紅色格仔枱布,與梳化很 matching! 餐具與餐廳風格一樣充滿懷舊風卻不失禮,甚至印「花」桌墊也可見用了多年的痕跡!帶點昏暗的光線配合木板牆身,給人懷舊的感覺!讓人不禁回想起那些年的童年回憶!見到侍應們的制服,白恤衫配背心!木板牆掛上不少多年來獲得的輝章,不容置疑多了幾分氣勢!當晚所見坐無虛席,雲集老中青食客! 當中,不少熟客特意來懷緬一番! 大家也不斷拍照留念!除了可看桌上的餐牌之外,亦可看木板牆身的小黑板! 以粉筆寫上各西餐款式及價錢!頗有特色!令人回想上學時!侍應先送上餐包,餐包仍是熱辣辣的,夠軟熟,加上甜度不高,沒有可挑剔的地方!羅宋湯好足料!椰菜、紅蘿蔔凡煲得軟腍!湯味帶微辣!都幾惹味!葉生沒有介紹錯!酸辣魚湯 ( 原價 $45 跟餐 +$15 )質感濃稠!酸中帶辣!朋友略嫌不夠辣!還有魚肉粒!如果想提升酸度,附上的檸檬可幫到忙!奶油蘑菇湯相對以上兩者來說確實比較失色!味道調教也不錯!只有雜豆、蘑菇而已。鮮果蝦沙律 + 芝士鮮菌焗蟹肉 配炒飯 $240鮮果包括:提子兩粒、鮮橙及火龍果各兩片,蝦用上新鮮貨色,鮮甜美味又爽身! 薯蓉沙律好像雪糕球的薯蓉球! 賣相精緻而且有別於坊間的沙律樣子! 薯蓉沙律很軟滑!夾雜薯仔粒及洋蔥粒,入口滿清爽! 口感上層次豐富!兩者比較,鮮蝦頓成配角!芝士鮮菌焗蟹肉充滿鮮味!蟹肉精華盡在此!蒜焗銀雪魚餐 $205焗至金黃!一送上桌時,香氣四溢!真惹人垂涎!銀雪魚入味又夠嫩滑!十分可口!大蝦三文魚餐 $255以兩個字形容 size "無敵"! 大蝦新鮮爻彈不在話下,三文魚更是肥美肉厚!大家一起分享更滋味!洋蔥豬扒餐 $170豬扒肉質軟腍,肉汁豐腴味美!加上炒至半熟的洋蔥很清甜爽口!薯條 $15由於伴碟的薯條實在太少! 大家卻意猶未盡!特意叫一碟!想不到是那麼平! 粗薯條薯味十足又熱燙!蘸上地們茄汁真是最佳拍檔!最後,當然不忘叫杯熱檸檬茶來消滯!感到有人情味的西餐廳!令大家滿載回憶! continue reading
